    Ok, I do get the pessimism of some on here. However, you must realise that, never has a cold blast been predicted this far in advance. So excuse me for not given a rat's backside what long range models are saying. Now let's not derail this excellent thread no more than we already have.

    Has this turned into the "Slag off the mod" thread? I'm sure it's "Model moans, ramps and banter" thread! It's conversations like the above that bring this forum down, not the conversations in the mod thread.

    I know it's model related and everybody has the right to post +192 charts, but I wish there was at 0 to +144 thread. The chances of tonights ECM coming off is slim to none, but you'd think it was a dead cert the way it's being discussed at the moment!

    I'm going to go out on a limb and say the excitement in the MOD thread at the moment is going to wane and wane over the next 7 to 10 days until they realize the models have led them up the garden path again.

    Thanks for the reply. It seems that finally some realism is creeping into the MOD thread. The last few posts have confirmed what I was starting to believe, that we are not going to get any (proper) cold spell anytime soon (down south). Lets just hope that December brings the goods!

    Forgive me for if I'm just mis-reading things here, but when is this (proper) cold spell suppose to materialize? I'm not very good at reading the models so I'm counting on people explaining in the model thread what is showing. So far we were looking towards the beginning of November (Bonfire night if I remember correctly), then around the 10th, and then the 17th and now it's December! Are people just getting carried away or are we actually going to get a cold spell appear?
