  1. We've had the kitchen fitter in all day today,so front door been open all day. I've been decorating the back bedroom so the upstairs windows have been wide open, and still are to get rid of the paint pong. Wonderful fresh feeling throughout the house at last and more importantly, no heating required.
  2. Mine s heated to around 15 degrees, nice and comfortable. I hate today's weather, luckily I have been able to lay in a darkened room all day. I feel like crap. 15 is about my comfort zone and it can be as cold as you like for me just add more layers.
  3. Snow would be good but I'll go with cool or cold summer. I hate heat especially when accompanied by high humidity.
  4. I've been around Hutton Mulgrave, Mickleby and Dalehouse (nr Staithes) today and there was quite a bit of water damage in the fords. Houses in Dalehouse village had been flooded. Had to rescue a driver who had bogged his car on the silt left behind in the watersplash. Was up there yesterday afternoon and it was torrential most of the time I was there driving around the area but according to a customer it got worse around early evening and that's when the damage occured from the torrents of water that came down the becks and lanes.
  5. I find that the more people I chat to, the more I realise that I prefer my own company.
  6. Appears to be firing off to the south of me now (I'm at Pocklington)
  7. Just had a thunderstorm pass nearby, I'm in Pocklington, storm appeared to be over towards Hull. Plenty of lightning, thunder heard in distance. Not the best view from my window but better than nothing.
  8. Typical I post that its intensifying and then it literally just seemed to die away to nothing but the occasional flash of lightning.
  9. Storm to my south east (Hull cell) seems to be intensifying with quite a lot of lightning, houses just spoiling my view slightly. Can hear distant thunder but to be honest my dog is petrified of thunder so it works for me. Just enjoying the light show for now.
  10. Cool, probably no more than 15c. I could live with that.
  11. When I was up above Whitby (A171 nr Egton) it was snowing heavily at 1815. Strangely though nothing at all on the A169 down to Pickering.
  12. Looks like I might just miss the snow, could do with some tonight as I got the Christmas lights up today and snow will just finish the effect off nicely
  13. The last time I checked my MetOffice app we are predicted heavy snow sometime between 0300 and 0600, tomorrow morning will tell and I have to be up at 0530 for work so at least I will be early enough to see something.
  14. I was up on the North York Moors earlier today, around 1200 and drove through a substantial snow shower, nice big flakes. Don't know how long it lasted but it was just starting to land and I was too busy to hang around and wait.
  15. Hat, always wear one, which type depends on the weather. As for scarf and gloves! Scarf never and gloves only in extreme circumstances (possibly last worn around early Dec '10)
  16. It's been snowing here (Pocklington) for the last 20 mins or so, cars covered and gardens but roadways just wet.
  17. According to Meto here at Pocklington we've got about a 5 hour window for snow showers between 2200 Fri and 0300 Sat. Let's see shall we.
  18. Anything less than 10C will do for me, single figures if I am physically working outside. Easier to work up a sweat and remove layers than start off hot and get hotter.
  19. Light frost here in Pocklington this morning, temperature in the car at 0630 was 3C.
  20. Maybe not, I don't have health problems but I dislike most temperatures above 15C, single digits is better, it's even more unbearable if the humidity is high too. Bring on an early but cool Autumn and early snows
  21. I see Martin and Timberland villages in Lincs are down to -10.6C already.
  22. Great pics. My boss lives in the next village of Holtby and I work just down the road between Murton and Holtby.
  23. Snowing heavily here in Pocklington, starting to cover but the wind is moving it around as it is so dry.
