  1. proper hammering down now but a real wet feel to the giant flakes... looks awesome though
  2. not even a dusting... just had a few flakes.... kids not happy.... just broke it to them that this will be it for probably 10 days or so at least .... white Xmas would make up for it
  3. amazing how the showers are losing intensity though as reach here, very light but some beefy ones heading into Dundee now
  4. 6.45 and it's snowing..... ahead of schedule time to shout walkies to the dog
  5. @Dundeeguygives me hope and now I am worried about a mild layer still seems to be about 0c here
  6. daughter just got excited as her iPhone proclaimed snow at 6pm.... grumpy dad said will come to nothing then checked radar and raised my eyebrow... just missed a decent looking one there to the south of us
  7. love Brian Clough.... regularly bemuse the 10 year olds I coach as I quote him don't make a good chance into a bad chance by trying to make it a great chance is my favourite
  8. just arrived in Dundee, surprised at the amount of snow. Warning is very tame, occasional showers turning to rain that probably won't reach Perth. All eyes on later in the month and the tease of a wintry Xmas.... certainly a notable early cold spell this has been.
  9. now Dundee has 4cm wind up still no snow in the snow desert.... no feeling left in my fingers after putting up the Xmas lights... at least it's beautifully crisp and the heavy frost gives the illusion of snow
  10. Irvine had 10cm of snow.... thats when you ******* know..... winter 23/24 get yourself to lovely to see all the photos of fantastic snow as I get ready to spend a day of cleaning the house and putting up the Christmas decorations... has really lifted the mood to have such joy for others.... my only consolation is 101 has nothing.... that satisfies my schadenfreude needs If someone could also post all these pictures in the model thread that would be great enjoy the snow all who got it.... Great start to winter
  11. clearly not.... they don't deserve the white stuff if can't even stay up late to look out for it
  12. still absolutely hee haw in Perth, have - 2 and freezing fog though and football off tomorrow so can relax and put up Xmas Decorations tomorrow would really like just a wee cm for decorative purposes but looks like anything going to be south of here....
  13. I can confirm I seen my first snowflakes of the season........ not in Luncarty but at Hibernian Training Ground in Tranent tonight.... was a cold cold watch and only a few flakes to admire but they all count.
  14. Just move hoose like SIS.... I often regret when last moved never actually factored in elevation and can't see us moving for a long time time so I will remain in snow starved Luncarty for the foreseeable. Not that I will ever moan about it
  15. Yup can hear wind whipping up here aswell on a mild night, hopefully the last of the mild weather and can look fwd to some colder weather in the near future.
  16. that is fascinating and bizarre in the garden... but worried the wife seemed so keen for you to stand on it and potentially disappear into a sink hole seems windier here than at anytime just now but at least river levels in pkc have remained below danger levels apart from maybe Alyth viewing above.
  17. been outside to take the bins out and it is certainly blowing a hoolie, very windy and rainy which is certainly no newsflash but quite horrible to think it will be like this for a couple of days
  18. hmmm I'm sitting in a lodge in Dalfaber.... should I be moving my car The river is a good 20m below my lodge.... surely I'm safe
  19. just drove back from Blairgowrie and already huge puddles of water the whole way home and it has only been raining around 2 hours. Don't think loading up the car tomorrow or the drive to holiday in Aviemore is going to be a fun one. On the plus side might be able to go up to the ski centre and see a flake or 2.
  20. incredibly mild here as walk the dog, hard to believe a cold week beckons... KW been very steadfast in forecast for this week and given some of his great work this winter im hopeful.. .. gonna be interesting to see if we can get anything decent at lower level... about 12c here according to the car.
  21. thanks I of course immediately went to the Yorkshire thread some unreal pics in there.... looks like 2010 on some of them.
  22. oooops not sure how the driver has managed to tip his gritter at Inveralmond roundabout as you leave Perth.
  23. my new year is complete #schadenfreude I do jest.... hopefully it turns
  24. yup same here... several tins since 6pm and opened the door to take dog out for a walk and booooooom nothing better than a surprise fall..... walking dog in silence and snow after several drinks is absolutely heaven. Happy New Year folks
