  1. It amazes me when I have clients come to me here at home and they say OMG you have got so much snow! where I have come form (few miles away there hardly any) but I guess thats just the geographic lay of the land? or perhaps im just waffling now so ill shut up LOL.
  2. Hopefully you will get some action on fri/sat it it all pans out right and we get the undercut fingers crossed
  3. Chris Bell lives 6 miles S of me so if his pics are from his home that would tie in the the 13-15cm here in Hindolveston and counting!!
  4. We often get more snow/rain in this local for some reason, partly due to being about the highest elevation in the county but its around 13-15cm!!!!!!!And its still falling!! Oh and I am NW of Norwich I put NE Been doing too much snow watching and chart viewing
  5. I am 18 miles NE of Norwich been snowing for 5 hours around 13-15cm here and still snowing as the front is pivoting was not expecting such good totals !!! NW of Norwich even LOL
  6. It has just started here in North Norfolk just east of Fakenham...light at the moment, still lying snow about 1cm from earlier temp dropping down a bit to -0.5c dp -2c so hopfully should have no problem settling
  7. BBC look east, just giving a cooling trend with daytime max over the weekend 5c and a min overnight low 2c no mention of any wintry precipitation think they will be needing to update a touch
  8. Looks like I will be glad of my winter tyres come next weekend if this verifies
  9. Things are really starting to fall into place now, still a long way to go but certainly looking far more promising this morning Ecm is now on board so beginning to get some cross model agreement out to 144 hight rises to our N/NE http://www.theweathe...p500.png?cb=353 Very exciting model watching...enjoy!!!
  10. Thanks Stewart...very informative...great presentation..an interesting winter ahead plenty to keep us watching
  11. Ecm looking good with heights still building NE by T240 if this comes off a cold pool should soon develop http://www.theweathe...p500.png?cb=606 So not a bad run from ecm thismorning...great model watching Must add what others have said this forum make such good reading... especially from the more experienced regulars...I am learning such a lot so thanks guys for all the informative and at time entertaining posts ie Ed`s monkey nuts and hose ;-))
  12. Absolutely agree ,If he said it, its got about as much chance of coming to fruition as winning the lottery.
  13. Overnight low of 0.8c Clear bright sunny start with a slight frost
  14. Totally agree with you bluearmy...as has been said many times on here patience is required..the models are on to somthing and are consistanly showing some form of blocking..lets hope the synomics come right for us to get our first tast of winter around the latter stages Nov but if we dont there will be further chances further down the line..we are still in Nov..so how anyone can write off winter with any degree of certainty at this stage is beyond me??
  15. I have to agree, there seems a real possibility of a major change from the mild..ish phase we are currently in...I am very happy with regard to where we are at this point in November...very interesting model watching in the coming days especially as we head towards end of the month with current wave breaking forecast to disrupt the PV and major blocking to or NW and NE.. exciting times ahead
  16. "For those who perhaps have studied physics, I am sure that adiabatic and diabatic processes are not complex at all, but I do confess that even with a physics A level to my name, ( a good few years ago mind you!), I did have to relook up the phrases when I joined NW. And I am sure that there are many more in my situation reading this thread!" Thanks for you update on the strat Chio, as always your posts are concise and easy to follow especially for a novice like myself. I would not have a clue about adiabatic and diabatic processes and like you say I am sure their are many others on here who would be unfamiliar with these terms.Sorry if Im a bit off topic but felt it needed to be said.
  17. Just want to echo what everyone else has said..great presentation.. full of information thanks GP .I follow these forums daily and the input from guys like yourself Chio and BFTP et al make for really informative reading..thanks guys. To my untrained eye it looks like we are in for a very interesting winter,..all the signs seem to be moving towards the possibility of cold Jan/Feb with -AO a very blocked winter interesting times ahead.
