i've been keeping an eye on the models pretty much all day and sure the 12z caused some fuss and excitement among those, like me, who live on fi but all i can say about the 18z fi is GREAT HOLY MACGOALY!!!!!
stewart's preliminary winter thoughts look pretty much verified!! hope the festive run comes up trumps too..... fingers crossed!!
the morning run seems an age away now.... like the one last sleep before crimbo...........

a bumper crop of christmas trees eh? i bet they will still cost an arm and a leg!!!

Problem is, its not really a probability map, it just means that if things were to fall into place then that particular area will be guaranteed snow.
i know it means that the moment it ran that there was 100% chance at that by tomoz it will more then likely show 2% but a man can dream can't he?
-
100% snow risk is kinda like saying it's going to happen.... well, at least for a little while
-
i have to be honest but i think it's all a case of "fore warned is fore armed!" and as we all here should know by now that what a mod shows today may not be what it shows tomorrow........

Anyone know how the hedgehogs are behaving?
i haven't seen any hedgys this year.... there seems to be an influx of robins though.... the russian ones at that!!

what i am finding really difficult to believe is that it's been a year since stewarts' "winter of two halves" forecast!!!!
i'm liking the chronokey effects that he has going on but, forgive my criticism, is there any chance that someone could put it to him to get a lapel mic? just finding it hard to hear him with my kids screaming in my ear..... then when they go to bed i am told to to turn it down coz the mrs can't hear her soaps!!! who'd be me eh?
i'm a bit gutted that his december thoughts show a possible repeat of last years december weather which i kinda felt was gonna happen but was hoping that he would poo poo my hunches.... ah well, tis only his early thoughts and things could still surprise us all (baring in mind that his winter of two halves forecast was scuppered by a winter of autumnal weather [here in manchester it was anyway])
anyhoo.... keep up the good work nw bods.... i love this site more then i love bacefook!!!

ok you big braineez.... what can you tell me about this (apart from the pretty colours )
tis quite a contrast from what it was showing yesterday!! almost certain it will change tomorrow too..... ahh, the joys of cfs models
-
hazy cloud here which made it all seem quite eerie!! love this time of year for star gazing....
-
Surely they'd be migrating to escape the cold, so why would that suggest it will be cold here? surely the opposite?
i too thought that baz.... it is an old farmers thing..... but why would swifts and swallows come here during our summer time hahaha! i think it has something to do with the robins getting bizzay!! and making baby robins..... but who knows?
also, russian winters are far more severe then ours.....

hey guys and ladies!
just want to say that what with all the fancy pants technologics going around these day, regarding the weather that is, but i'm a big believer in some of the old "folksy" ways of telling the weather ("i've just sat down and it's started to rain!! typical!!" - a cow) so i've been noticing an over migration of robins and wrens... don't know if this a sign of a cold winter heading over from russia (as that is where most of the winter robins come from.... 'specially the shy ones.) although judging from most of the model runs i have seen, well, it really could do anything!!! but most seem to be trending towards a cold start then leading to a really cold new year and after that.... who cares? hahaha!
p.s. @dan aka wmd - i do like your blog site.... very interesting read
love you all!! (in a "cosmic karma" kinda way! )

ooooo snowmageddon!!!
got to be honest but this mornings 06Z wasn't as good as last nights pub run but it was still not to shabby in respects of the "cold snap"! although that greenlandish high was not as long as we all hoped for........ gonna be a busy day/weekend on here R.P.
