We seem to be in the bulls eye of the low right now,nonstop rain since monday morning.

SW corner of the Bowland Fells. Thought the MetO daily gauge here might overflow before morning, l so decided to empty it at 9pm.
Measured 55.4 mm (10am to 9pm) and that's on top of the 17.1mm collected this morning..
Still raining heavily, so there'll be more to measure tomorrow morning to complete the "day".
Water here eventually finds its way into the Ribble.
Floods already in many places along Lancs rivers. A worrying situation.
I visited the Ribble at 9.30pm and its as high as i have ever seen it.
High tides could cause probs lower down.

Only 9cm of Snow here considering it snowed for around 8 hours yesterday.
Foggy and +1c at the moment.

Yes, it's snowed all afternoon in Skipton but only really got going in the last couple of hours. I think there was a bit of freezing rain mixed in for a while. Still think there's a bit more to come...
Hi Mate, its Snowed here from mid-day but put maybe 5cm down in the last hour.

Just thought I'd let people in central north yorkshire/west yorkshire know that we have had a couple of hours of very heavy snow as the front has pepped up over this region. The heavy precip is due to track southeastwards - anywhere along the A65 corridor should see some preety decent snow in the next hour or so, this filtering into west/south yorkshire thereafter - if it maintains its intensity of course.
Yes Damian, we have had about 3cm in the last hour.

Really annoying how the south east will do really well out of a weather system from the west.

Snowing heavier now, shame this front was not later in day as getting deeper now.
