  1. All the conditions are right. TX/LA border for me too for landfall. Rita just looks so 'perfect'. Everything about her has been, from her path through the Florida straits to her beeline for the warmest waters on the GOM. In a weeks time we could all be talking about the 'perfect' hurricane?
  2. Storm skimmed me this afternoon. I was monitoring it for about 15 minutes as it passed just to my south. I thought it headed more ENE by the time it arrived here. I managed to get a high vantage point and saw at least 5 CGs towards the south, the strongest of which was pink. Also saw a couple of nice ICs. It was clear that the worst of it was over towards Deal, and in Margate we only got steady, and occasionally heavy rain for around 30 minutes. A fairly big system which didn't amount to a great deal here really.
  3. At 9.40 it all kicked off here in Margate for about 15 minutes. Torrential rain and loads of thunder and lightning. A lesser storm passed through at about 7.15, heavy rain but not as intense as this latest one. Plenty of distant rumbles can be heard. The first one i heard was at 6.30, and I am still hearing them now.
  4. Thunder to my SW with the storm about to envelope me
