Hi all. Only awake as I'm not feeling too well! Was hoping to be in the firing line here in Walsall. Seems to be slightly more southern to me though. Oh well, we'll get some I think (I hope!).

Been at the football this afternoon, bitterly cold out. Looking forward to some snow here tomorrow!
-
Just been woken up by the winds here, some strong gusts! Just the one branch down in the road so far. Hope the very early starters are taking it easy out there.
-
Been raining here in Walsall WS3 for couple of hours now. No strong Gail Platt's as of yet

I personally think it's great. Storms are taken more seriously when they're named as you know it could cause problems. Yes, sometimes they get overhyped because they're named but in the whole I think it's great.

Looking forward to seeing what tonight/tomorrow morning brings as long as everyone stays safe of course! Could be very interesting for north Midlands such as Stafford upwards who will bear the brunt. I'm about 20 miles south of Stafford so I'm still expecting a few strong gusts but I don't expect any trees coming down!
Stay safe all

Hi all,
Been meaning to come on since Storm Doris. What a wild day that was. Trees, fences and even trampolines felt the full force of Doris around here. I take it that Storm Ewan is going to be north of us this time, winds are certainly picking up though.

Such a difference in attitude up here compared to in London when it snowed.
I got sick of people in London whining and moaning about how their lives were ruined by a cm of snow that lasted all of a day. Using it as an excuse to miss work and not get things done.
These past few days I have not heard a single person complain here. People have embraced the conditions and got on with it. Everyone turned up for work.
So refreshing!
We're made out of tougher stuff here

Hi all. Snow has all melted now. A good night with quite heavy snow for a while late last night and this morning. A nice surprise

A few flakes falling again here. Showers seem to be dying as they get closer but expecting some light snow for a bit now. Anything other than that will be a bonus!

Just checked the radar... a nice shower on the way for a few of us hopefully... Currently over Market Drayton. Lets hope that doesn't weaken!

I feel greedy saying this after having a fairly good snow shower about an hour go leaving a dusting (yes, that's how bad our winters have got...) but I would absolutely love those Cheshire gap streamers to nudge south just a little!

Yep, not a bad little shower for us over here. Was quite heavy for a time. Keeping an eye on the radar hoping for more showers later!

Very light snow here in Pelsall, Walsall. WS3. Been keeping an eye on that shower heading our way on the radar!

Hi! Been awhile since I used the forum, formerly under a different name as I was in Wales.
Was surprised to see we've had a little bit of snow in Pelsall, left a very slight dusting on cars/grass. Been in Sutton Coldfield all day and despite the odd snow shower there was nothing until you approached Aldridge.

Glad to see a thread like this here, love checking out webcams from around the world, mainly when they are forecast severe weather so I am often checking up forecasts for the areas, but they are still fun to check out at any time. I have live streams bookmarked from 35 different countries to be exact!

Today has been split into three different phases, the morning was all about heavy rain, this afternoon was all about heavy showers and tonight seems to be all about very strong gusts of wind so far! Not as strong winds as Wednesday but they're strong nevertheless!

Lovely day today, started to cloud over in the late afternoon though.
Not looking forward to more rain tomorrow, getting ridiculous now. Bring on the Summer I say..

Made a map like this for Wednesday's storm so I've done the same for the next storm which will affect the UK between Friday and Saturday. These wind speeds are based off what the Met Office wind maps say and the GFS Model. It shows when you can expect the highest wind speeds for each part of the UK.
Could be a long day of wet and windy weather then for me in South West Wales then...
