Stalling over wales , looking very good .
Rain/Snow for me.. Which probably means sleet then!
Is it just me or are some models saying one thing and some are saying another? Don't think anybody quite knows if it'll be all of Wales having snow or not!

Latest projections show a westward progression so you *might* be in luck.....

Hopefully this improves my chances too then, good news.. Still, to be fair all we can do at this stage is wait as I am sure there's more twists and turns yet! This is the part of the snow I hate! The uncertainty! We all just want some snow

Ah, I'm gutted. Living between Llanelli and Carmarthen and it's as if we're on the border of the snow/sleet... So even if it starts as snow it'll probably turn to sleet/rain not long after! Gutted!

As im still a newbie here, could i ask.... as we are now 24 hours closer to friday than we were yesterday,should we take this 12z run as the start of "confirmation" of whats to come or do we wait until 24hrs b4?i know that might sound like a daft question but im learning
I'm no expert but when it comes to snow I wouldn't take anything as confirmation until you actually see it falling outside! A very tricky weather to forecast!

Great developments by the sounds of things! I still worry that I will see rain or sleet! Hopefully it'll be snow. Any idea what time snow is set to begin (if we get the snow that is!)
Also, how icy was it today? I am between Llanelli and Carmarthen and this morning going to work at 6am it was really bad, I know of two people who crashed between 6-8am because of it, also my dad lost control of his car too! Thankfully everybody is okay but it was really bad out there!

Provided it's cold enough snow will settle on surfaces regardless of how wet they are.
This is true, however I can't see it being cold enough tonight
Maybe Friday! Certainly looks exciting but as already discussed, it'll probably be downgraded at some stage!

Hi all hope you enjoyed some snow last night! We had some sleet here last night as I expected.
This morning started very foggy indeed at 6am. It cleared by 9am, by 10-11am the sun had come out and it turned into quite a nice day. Clouds have since come over and it has become colder.
Hoping for a little bit of snow sometime this week.. Maybe a couple of showers tonight although nothing will stick due to how wet the floor is due to some sleet and a little bit of hail we had in the last hour and a half. End of the week looks promising, although where I am it could easily be sleet instead of snow!

Hi, obviously no snow in my part of the world this evening, sleet at best maybe! Just wondering what may be in store towards the end of the week? Overheard a customer at work say we may be in for some snow 'later on in the week'? Always a worry as I have work at 6am and these countryside roads are always left untreated!

Possibly snow in the far East of Wales in my opinion, rain for the rest of us..

Don't think anybody expected things to go as they have.
As far as I am concerned, South West Wales has to be out of the running but it'll be interesting to see where there's accumulations of snow that wasn't predicted to get it!

Warm day (compared to the rest of the week!) I just hope it is relatively quiet for next weekend as I am travelling up to Birmingham!

It siad rain for us all day and there was snow for over 4 hours.
Temps now up to 7c, and raining heavily, some snow remnants at side of garden but not much.
It didn't say rain for us all today..
Forecasts yesterday said there was a possibility that snow could start in East Wales and turn back to rain..
Todays forecast was even more encouraging for East Wales, saying exactly what has happened really. No real surprises.. Unless you didn't see the forecast of course!
That's why I kept saying it would turn to rain when people were getting excited by a few hours of snow, the forecast was spot on. Wish it had been different for you though!

I used to live in Birmingham, seeing quite a few pictures on Facebook.. Jealous! They have had loads since around 1pm, still snowing and still heavy there!

Whats happening in places where it was snowing earlier? Is it still going or has it turned to rain?
They've gone quiet so I am guessing it's raining now!

no this morning on bbc and itv they clearly said rain for wales except for far east and even showed a chart,it has not been only far east,it has snowed in west as well and i am not east and had good amounts of snow. met did give amber warning but u must admit radio 2 yest said rain wales bbc and itv and i think most people get their info off anyone of them. i know my parents rang to say they got it wrong again and they only get it from tv.
The BBC forecast earlier actually said snow for East Wales for a time (and it wasn't far East!) then said it would turn to rain later, which some people are now experiencing. Think most media & MetO have done well with this. Nobody ever ruled East Wales out for snow, they just said it was unlikely and that it'd turn to rain in the end.

Just seen a gritter out gritting here. Doesnt seem a lot of point if it is going to turn to rain or do they know something different
Gritter was out here earlier, there's a weather warning for ice tomorrow so that's probably why. Often it can be worse when snow turns to rain and it freezes. Could be treacherous out there.

3c! Wow. My weather station reads 1.5c - starting to rise quickly now though. Pembrey Sands is only 2.5c.
Difference being my temperature reader probably isn't as reliable as yours!
What's the rain been like by you? I know you are only a couple of miles away but the weather in the past week or two has varied dramatically! You know it's bad when you start asking the question "What's the rain like by you?"

It's 3c here at the moment. Still very light rain, hardly noticeable infact. Strange, because the radar shows as if we should be having heavy rain or at least moderate but this is very very light.

It could, and probably will for a time. Nobody really knows how long that'll keep up though! Could last the whole time if you're lucky and above a certain height.
Doubt it'll last for others though as the more precip pushes in, the warmer the air and it won't hold out for the whole for most. I just hope you lot are the lucky ones!

It was fun at 5AM this morning - unfortunately PPN turned to sleet/rain later on haha
We should head up the black mountain and have some fun whilst it still remains as snow
It was! Woke up at 5am to find a very fine dusting on the car, some on the pavements too. I just hope that the people in East Wales amongst us here don't get their hopes up, it was always likely to start as snow and end up as rain, hope I am wrong though and someone can post some pictures of deep snow.. It's the closest we will get!

lol looking at the radar what the east of wales have had so far is starters the main course looks to be arriving very soon
But with that comes warmer air.. Will more than likely turn to rain unfortunately! I hope I am wrong but all I am saying is don't get your hopes up!

Drizzling here, started as wet snow earlier this morning. Got to laugh at the people down the local shop stocking up as if we're about to have 10ft of snow when all we're getting here is rain!

Derek's latest forecast didn't look great for me! Oh well, definitely a case of 'nowcasting'! His forecast had me under rain the for majority of the time, but on the border of the yellow weather warning. I'm hoping he's wrong and that snow will fall a little more to the West!
