  1. I have the exact facts somewhere from Retron on two. I think you start getting sunburn when the sun exceeds 30 degrees off the horizon. so mid october to mid feb in the UK = no tan
  2. Exactly my thinking Tom. We seek the holy grail. We get it and the SE gets jack all. ....so frustrating.
  3. I see the usual suspects on the ukmo radar are getting snow or snow showers at the moment. Why is this? and the same areas are nearer to the high pressure block.u couldnt make it up.......
  4. Superb chart Steve but no good if it dont produce the convective goodies. Like this current spell for us in the SE. Would like heavy snow now which would settle no problem....
  5. Radar has light shower over my area but nothing is getting to the ground. ..upper air must be very dry either that or radar is wrong. location aylesbury
  6. Hows that work then the SE is closest to the lower dewpoints being advected from the near continent.
  7. Alexis no worries about snow showers today. Uppers are ok and we are entering the time of year when temps of 8 degrees can produce snow. The temps simply fall that fast when showers start. Only downside is anything that sticks will fast melt in the gaining strength of the sun.
  8. As expected the midlands streamer dies out as it approached this area. Aylesbury. This really is comedy at its finest. Another highly frustrating cold spell around here.
  9. You and me both Katie. Here in Aylesbury once again in the god damned dry zone.
  10. Great reading folks.does beg the question. Would we of been looking at a repeat of jan 87 had this been 6 weeks ago. ..all assuming it comes off
  11. I have had flakes of snow here in aylesbury this morning. Confirmed by a friend who drove through whitchurch just outside aylesbury where it was moderately falling. ..shocked.. this wasnt forecast
  12. Just a quick one. Sleet hitting the window about 15 mins ago. With snowflakes observed. Temp +1.3 here in aylesbury. Bucks.
  13. Well im one for a northern blocking pattern for the next 6 weeks then it can chuff off and be replaced by southern blocking from mid April right through till September. I dont think i can stomach a 7th crap Summer in a row.
  14. Will reply later some sort of power outage happened when i posted a reply. .on dial up speed and hacked right off.
  15. Ian from that last quote i assume your not a fan of proper winter weather then?
  16. Hope the met office and Ian are wrong and we get the severest spell since 2010.lol. Fancy posh words dont cut it with me.
  17. Same here lollypop for a speedy recovery.and hope to see JP back here very soon. Along with himself and a few others who post in here who i much respect for
  18. Quick question. How comes in the USA they are talking mega amounts of snow. Yet our low pressures give a hell of a lot less. Is it to do with warmer seas around the Boston area? see 48 years old and still learning......
  19. Superb mate.here north west of London clear and dry for the moment.wonder if mother natures alarm clock will wake me around 6am.lol.
