Here's a further report on the Monday night storm in West Sussex - Link (the poor person's second lightning strike in 18mths!)
-
Hello Mr Coast
So I see, here are a couple of links - BBC - Southern Counties
-
The sky frequently lit up with amazing lightning last night (Mon 19th) between around 9-11pm. No sound though and short heavy showers, must have been somewhere nearby. (Brighton)
-
Love all the pics. We had a little wet snow yesterday afternoon amongst the rain (I sat and watched the drops on the window) here in Brighton!

What a great question!
...and I love the Netweather santa shaker!! <3

Wow, I love those last few sunsets, essan, mammatus and potsy. Gorgeous pics.

Heavy thundery rain here in Brighton this morning.

I need to take that Journo to the US Plains, he/she would give some great write ups, not even I used the term "The 4 Horsemen of the Apocolypse" even on the Greensburg EF5 Tornado
LOL!
I enjoyed your report last night too Tamara, could hear distant loud booms but nothing reached me.

On a purely selfish point of view, I would love a summer when 30c+ isnt reached. Its an awful heat - particulary when having to travel to and from work. If I want that heat, I will book a holiday in the med, with an air conditioned apartment and a swimming pool I can casually jump into. Not an office when the temperature is never below 95f and a train carriage (and half the time home/bedroom) rarely reaches below that.
Bah humbug.
I agree!

I saw this in my local newspaper 'The Argus', thought it may be of interest to members living in the Eastbourne area, if it isn't already fully booked!
'Amateur weather forecasters and outdoor sports enthusiasts have been invited to a day-long meteorology course.
The Weather Shop in Eastbourne will be running two courses at its base at Sovereign Harbour on Saturday, July 7th from 10.30am to 3.30pm. The cost is £20.
For further information call the number given or email info@weatherfront.biz'

Yes, I usually get a headache just before a storm and also that disorientating pressure feeling around my head. Sometimes causes a nauseous feeling too.
-
A nice little thunderstorm just passed through Brighton to the NE, some brilliant lightning.
-
I'm enjoying the conversation in here this morning (exciting!) (..and I'd really like to see the rest of your photos lightningfan - great pic)
-
I might lose a vote, which would be a shame when I'm looking to kick those stormchasers and their dull old thundery showers into touch
Oh dear.. trust me, very sorry. I can't edit the post now so maybe someone else can.
It should read SD4 2.
