  1. Hi all I no lot are getting excited prospects of colder weather and ssw what could happen in January the meto seem onboard with cold temperatures and some snow. But they said in there update Below there is no exceptionally colder conditions occurring anywhere; however, some harsh frost and snow cover.. Cold or rather cold conditions are generally likely to continue during this period, with a risk of wintry hazards. At times conditions will generally be settled for parts of the north, and possibly extending to western areas too. There are currently no indications of exceptionally cold conditions occurring anywhere; however, some harsh frosts are likely over areas with snow cover. As we approach the end of January, it is likely that colder-than-average conditions will generally persist through the country. However, it is possible for some areas to see milder wetter and windier spells, but less frequently than usual. Updated: 04:00 (UTC) on Sun 27 Dec 202

  6. Just seen long range forecast they saying jet stream coming back in to play next week low pressure to the north west. but what I’ve seen tonight on models is low pressure going south east with Continental air coming from east what sort of models are they looking at .
  7. I think they have updated it look my wintery. The period will start unsettled across all parts of the UK, with areas of heavy rain and showers, locally of soft hail, sleet and snow likely, and possibly more widespread snow over some hills and mountains. Often windy, especially around coasts, but in quieter interludes overnight there will remain the potential for some patchy frost, and isolated mist and freezing fog. Temperatures are expected to be a below average overall. Later in this period, it could turn drier and more settled with a chance of high pressure moving in from the north, bringing brisk easterly winds. Again, where winds fall lighter, overnight frost and patchy fog is likely, this perhaps most likely in the north. Near, to slightly below, average temperatures are most likely.
