Showers breaking off the coast in the south of the region now also . Temp dropping away nicely
Don’t get my hopes up.

Again, it looks like the northern parts of the region will benefit most tonight…
Hopefully tomorrow delivers.

It definitely won’t be sleet today we had the lightest snow shower in history in Costa del Redcar so if it’s cold enough here it’s cold enough anywhere
Did you celebrate with a lemon top?

New warning for snow and ice issued from 5pm today to 7am tomorrow for;
- Durham
- Gateshead
- Newcastle upon Tyne
- North Tyneside
- Northumberland
- South Tyneside
- Sunderland
Snow showers likely to cause some travel disruption.
What to expect
- Some roads and railways likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services
- Probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths
- Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces
Snow showers will feed in from the coast during the remainder of Wednesday and during Wednesday night. Whilst not all areas will see snow, a few places are likely to see snow accumulations of 2-5 cm. Icy stretches are also expected to form on some untreated surfaces.
A further kick in the teeth for us snow starved Teessiders.

That’s normally the case to be fair in this set up I think lower levels will definitely see snow but can’t see it sticking
Story of the winter. It has been terrible. Not a single snow day.

Got to laugh at all of these posts discounting the GFS because it doesn’t show snow in their back yard.
