  1. Meanwhile, the sun is out in Middlesbrough with not a single snow cloud in sight...
  2. Well the graphic on Sky News showed the front reach us by this evening as well as the showers come in from the North Sea. Game on I reckon.
  3. This is what Matt Hugo has just said on Twitter: The amalgamation of showers off the North Sea is definitely bringing an added difficulty to the fcsts but NE Eng at risk of heavy snow shrs
  4. The boundary? Lmao so it could be a let down or a biggie. Most likely a let down
  5. Where's Middlesbrough on that map? The red zone or the orange zone?
  6. I wouldn't rule that out as we still don't know whether the front from the West will reach us and the North Sea is getting its act together
  7. Very strange, they've also forecasted some snow tonight in their last hourly update. It's got very cloudy and it's turned quite breezy.
  8. How accurate are the 5 day Met Office forecasts? Now it is showing no snow in Middlesbrough during the WHOLE of Saturday. Surely that isn't right?
  9. I can confirm that some very very light snow is falling in Linthorpe, Middlesbrough at the moment...
  10. It should be an interesting evening and weekend then. Bring it on!
  11. I actually think Teesside doesn't do too bad, we actually got a very decent snow cover this week and now it's all frozen rock solid so any snow that falls this weekend will definitely lay....
  12. Ye places like Northumberland, Newcastle, Durham and maybe Teesside might be in the firing line from the North Sea
  13. I reckon we could see a lot more snow than what the Met Office are forecasting if the North Sea decides to get its act together
  14. What excites me most is that the likes of GP and Roger Smith expect us to see the most severe spell of the winter in late January and February. In fact GP has really ramped it up today if anyone has seen his post in the Model Output Thread.
  15. So around 10 cm of snow on Friday and another 5 around the course of the weekend...not bad.
  16. [quote name='Isolated Frost' timestamp='1358355235' post='2 This is starting to get very serious, we could be on the brink of something rather special. Do you think there's a good chance of this being better than the 2009 and 2010 cold spells?
  17. Starting to get very excited now plus the met office 6-15 day forecast suggests the north and east of the uk will bear the brunt of the cold
  18. I reckon we may get just as much as the West by the end of the weekend if the North Sea also decides to join the party once again
  19. Quality isn't it...blizzard like conditions, wow! Will this be upgraded to an Amber warning nearer to the time?
  20. The new weather warning put in place by the MO virtually covers the whole country for Friday....
  21. Didn't we want the front to stay as far West as possible to sustain the longevity of the cold?
