Met office automated also changed this morning here. Wasn’t showing any precipitation at all last night. We’ll see soon enough if it’s right, radar looks fairly lively.

Both gfs and especially ECM are quite bullish about snow chances tomorrow. Ukmo pretty much on its own with the front not reaching us. charts might be in wrong order sorry.

So some models have various amounts of snow tomorrow for those of us in the south west, but others have it barely reaching Wales at all. Will be interesting to see what actually happens. I for one will be up radar watching in the morning. Hopefully those of you further north and east will get something out of today’s front, which seems to have stalled now and should move back south this afternoon.

I think Saturday will be just wet for anyone in the south/south west, maybe a little back edge snow in the SE as the cold air digs in behind. Mid wales northwards and higher ground in the SE could do well. Then it all depends how much cold air we can get in place before any precipitation arrives on Sunday. Better chances for those of us near the south coast I think, but will be interesting to see how much we can get before the inevitable change back to rain.

This makes sense. My understanding is that the data used is historical data, therefore there will be much more data on typical weather patterns. So when we have unusual Synoptics that the models won’t have dealt with much before, like we have now, they are bound to struggle. Hence all the differences in output, even at short time scales. I could be wrong though, fairly new to all this.

I wonder if there will be any more southward corrections? Starting to look interesting even for the south west. Even if it doesn’t stay as snow for long it will be nice to see, especially as it will be during the day this time.

Looks pretty grim for us in the south west, going to be a soggy week.

Sleet and hail here now in pembs, this mornings covering pretty much all gone. Not giving up hope for tonight though, not just yet.

Looks like these showers are going to go to far south now, looks like the wind is staring to change direction. I still think we might have a few more surprises this afternoon.

Showers heading into Pembrokeshire now, I wonder what will fall out of the sky. Only a light covering here this morning, but beautiful non the less.

With all the current interest I thought I’d reactivate my old account and start posting this year Seems we’re in slightly milder air today, hence why the frost has lifted so quickly. colder upper temps coming back down from the North by tomorrow morning, and with it the risk of the dangler turning wintry again.
