  1. Very close to me in the radar now and still creeping north. Surely it can’t stop this close?
  2. Yes it looks like anything coming through Preston should hit Manchester. Big shower imminent.
  3. Looks to me like this is still pivoting over us and won't be going anywhere quickly. I can also see a few heavier pieces of ppn pepping up over the north east that we may be able to drag into the equation.
  4. View from my front window. and from the local playing fields. Absolute white out and still coming down pretty heavy.
  5. I look like I am in a sweet spot here, it looks like the snow band will arrive and then sink south keeping me in the ppn for a good 6/7 hours. Fingers crossed.
  6. I see in the mod thread that we have a good chance of a northerly/ north westerly. Am I right in thinking we usually do quite well in this kind of setup.
  7. Thanks mapants. All though I am such a novice that I don't really understand what effects they have on the overall Synoptics pattern.
  8. Any chance somebody could point out to us Johnny come latelys what a shortwave is?
  9. Bbc weather just had us under the amber warning telling us to expect 5-10cm widespread.
  10. BBC tv forecast has me under snow during the second wave tomorrow but very close to the sleet/rain boundary. Could any lying snow help at all? Sorry if this is a daft question.
  11. Surely got to be more than 38M though if congleton is somewhere between 95-150?
  12. How do I check my elevation then? Just checked on gps visualiser and i got 382M ASL.
  13. Hi guys, I am in Hyde(about 6 miles east of Manchester) 382m ASL. What would you say my chances of snow are in the next couple of days.
