In from work and temperature a chilly -1.6c and snowing very lightly. Will have full cover by this time next week but at least it's snowing which is more than forecast. Let's keep being positive - at least the days are getting longer! ht!

Still -0.9C with gusty wind and now a few flakes of snow in the air. A pain in my neck from looking right at the pink blob on the radar!

Dry this morning, hard frost-2.6 and still windy, too cold for the dog even and he's an Alaskan Malamut and came back in almost straight away! Hopeful of some snow later looking at the radar

Temperature dropped from a high of 1.6 to 0.3 and ice just forming in the buckets of water in the garden. If anything falls from the sky it will be snow, just can't see much on the horizon yet.

Temperature dropped to 0.9 down from 1.5 at 6.30 and wind increased as well. Just need some snow!

Dog walk around shaftesbury at 230 m, ground frozen and ice on puddles with temperature now just above freezing. If any precipitation reaches us I guess it will be light snow. Heard 2 woodpeckers as well

Been posting for just a week and changed my profile name and put on a member photo Walking the dog last week in lovely fresh snow and fear tomorrow will be cold, but very wet rain! Looking forward to next week and good to see the Met app temperature dropping. Everything crossed for a good spell of proper winter weather for us all to enjoy and take our minds off the bug!!

Hi everyone, Long time lurked who has watched with interest over the years and now feel it's time to post. We have lived in a snowy part of West Yorkshire above holmfirth and between the peak district and the southern pennines for 25 years and saw some great snow events. Now living in shaftesbury and a lovely spot it is and it's high enough for snow! Buying a weather station as well as fed up sticking my finger in the water bucket to see if it's frozen! Great site and once learnt how to upload photos will do.
