Complete waste of a day weather-wise. Dull and grey with drizzle in the air at times. A very low cloudbase as well with departing aircraft disappearing at about 400ft. We've even had the heating on as its only about 11c. What a joke.
Well that wasn’t expected. Rain clearing and mostly sunny from about 2pm onwards. Felt almost spring like and I was able to get a few outside jobs done. Not a bad evening either. A bit more like it please!
4.7c here on my weather station. 4c on the airport atis with moderate rain and a north westerly gusting to 24 knots. I’m sure this will improve in March/April
Looks like temps at least are set to improve as we go into next week. Up to somewhere around normal which will feel tropical after several days of single figure highs.
So anything mild now appears to have been pushed back until early next week at best.
5/6c overnight isn't a problem but when it only rises to 7/8c during the day it feels just as cold.
On a different note, just watched the met-office online forecast (for the first time) and apparently -3 in England in late April is 'nothing unusual'.
Speaking of cloud seeding, the silence from the climate warriors has been deafening. I mean deliberately meddling with the weather & nature you think they'd be up in arms. Funny how its been going on for years but not a peep. Strange that.
Absolutely hammering it down again here. It's been on & off all night. Mini rivers down the sides of the road. The local farming land is done & dusted for this year, unless you want to grow rice.
In Absence of True Seasons Thats a very good satellite pic showing the atlantic firing a continuous line of crap at the UK. It's been another day of cold wind & showers here with only fleeting glimpes of the sun. We need a major pattern change to bring any settled weather but the atlantic appears to be on non stop overdrive.
The sun finally coming out late yesterday afternoon managed to push the temp up to 17c and it was a lovely evening. Looks like that could be the max though for the month if the met office outlook is to be believed. A lot of foliage still looks like mid-winter as well.
After a promising start this morning (it was even briefly sunny) it’s now raining again although looking at the radar it should clear by mid-afternoon. Just can’t seem to get a complete day without it.
TwisterGirl81 You are right, temps pushing 20c even up North used to be quite common in April.
But with that 'global warming - climate change' (insert the latest on trend thing to blame here) we're lucky if it reaches, but more importantly feels like 10c!
Met office quote 'Early mist and fog clearing to leave a bright morning with patchy cloud and some sunny intervals'. Mmm, not really, it's cold and very grey.
