Sun just starting to break through here, but I think it might be too late now for any storms here.

Tomorrow's looking good. I think we could see some intense thunderstorms popping up in central southern areas. ⚡️⚡️

Looks like round 2 for Ilminster

Chased that Illminster cell but it has virtually died out by the time I got there, saw a few intra cloud flashes and a lot of heavy rain. Then went south towards Dorchester to intercept another cell down that way but not much came of it. Back home now.

Sat in a lay-by on A303 near Wincanton, if you see a black Audi its probably me! Lots of convection going on but I think the capping needs to be broken. Still plenty of time yet.

I'm already in a good spot but will be hitting the A30 or A303 to chase.

Just wondering, when's the next plume coming? To me it looks like next week but can't see a massive amount of elevated thunderstorms with it.
Bank Holiday weekend looks good with max temps in the 20s and a low positioned out in the Atlantic just to the SW of the British Isles. Still a fair way to go yet though

Pretty gutted that storm went just south of me earlier. I decided not to chase as it looked as though my home location would get something. Oh well, bring on the next plume!

Does anyone remember the 4 July storm of 2001? I was on the way to work at the time and the sheer ferocity of it scared the life out of me
Yes remember it well, it was my induction day at secondary school. It came over at about 8:15 when I was at the bus stop

Altocumulus Castellanus cloud covered the sky a few minutes ago here. A few thundery showers are now developing down near St. Malo and over the Cherbourg Peninusla in France. We may just get lucky tonight.
Hope so William, its very frustrating watching the cb develop over you and then drift away to the north ;(
