A good event here although can't help but feel a little disappointed with the depth of snow, the brighter echoes in the channel kept fizzling out before getting here and it was mostly small flakes falling throughout. Best event since 2010 but it certainly doesn't surpass that (here at least). Still several centimeters though so not really complaining, plus looks like round two later so let's see what that brings. Pleased that pretty much everyone in our region got at least a decent covering!

I'm too young to remember that winter, but have heard about it from my parents. They appeared on the TV show Mr and Mrs and had to go all the way up to Carlisle to film it. It was largely snowless there but when they got back to Hampshire on the train it was a whiteout and more snow days followed after. Hoping for similar the next few days!

We have the players to get out of it but sadly the boards refusal to sack Mr Bean and get a proper, competent manager in will probably end up costing us. Their unwavering support for him is bizarre tbh. Stoke game is huge but I'm not confident. Had a decent amount of snow this morning driving around the Winchester and Alresford area with some of it sticking, not had so much this afternoon but still a decent start to the week. Most snow I've seen for several years! I really have no idea what's going to happen at the end of the week now, I suppose just hoping for the best but expecting the worst (a bit like going to Saints games these days)!

It's gonna be a nerve wracking week tracking that low on Thursday/Friday, if it comes off it could give us an epic event the likes of which many of us won't have seen in our lifetimes! Even if it meant a thaw soon afterwards I'd snap your hand off for that right now. In the meantime plenty to keep us interested in the next few days, so let's just enjoy as these synoptics are so rare for our part of the world.

Yellow warning for snow already for many of us on Tuesday and Wednesday, with the additional possibility of thundersnow. The low coming up from the SW is nearly a week away and it's track won't be nailed until much nearer the time, let's just enjoy what's to come before that as I think everyone will see some snow over the next few days, some more than others! Anyway Beeb has me down for snow all day Friday atm, which is pretty remarkable given the timescale!

Got quite excited when it started snowing early this morning at work, but it soon turned to sleet and then rain and is only just stopping now. Still better than the last few years I guess but it's depressing knowing that it could literally be years before we see snow falling again. It's bitterly cold outside and still we get rain, all a bit of a damp squib down here.
