I can't actually believe people place more stock in this model than the CFS. Plus as John Holmes has pointed out in another thread, it's designed for the seas rather than the land masses.
Same, and it's going to look very silly at the end of May...!
Talking of the CFS, it might be onto something for late December:

Interesting JAMSTEC forecast for Spring I've just noticed:
And with a bitterly cold March, April/May would have to be very warm!
Shame they're probably wrong...
-
Yep.... 2099!!
Oops, forgot to put the year...
Nah, that's a little too early don't you think?

Snowing fairly consistently now, albeit rather lightly. A good inch or two on the ground at 0.2°C. A Patch of perhaps a little heavier precip near Gloucester moving North, which hopefully has our name on it
-
I have never seen such huge flakes, forget 50p size these were at least 2 inches in diameter! Amazing stuff, slightly eased off now though.
-
Light Sleet in Wolverhampton, probably Snow:Rain ratio - 70%:30%.
Air Temp: 2.2°C
DP: 1.2°C
(123m asl)

I know it's old but just seen this beautiful setup on the CFS, look at that 1065 greenland high:
Oh wait, it's April...
-
It really is amazing looking at some of these traffic cameras going towards Shrewsbury on the M54 and North from Birmingham towards Stafford/Stoke. There appears to be a well defined snow line: http://www.bbc.co.uk/travelnews/birmingham
Take a look around Sheffield too.

A pretty volatile situation at the moment, precip changing from icy rain to sleet and snow before going back again every few minutes. Temps soaring to the dizzy heights of 1.3*C
-
Just for jokes, is that 25cm over the West Midlands at the end of the run??
-
Sleet Shower in wolverhampton now, turns briefly more snowy when the wind picks up before going back to predominantly rain only seconds later. Temp dropped 1C to 2.5C in 5 mins.

I am going to predict an early New Year displacement SSW, now on the back of what I have seen so far. One that not only displaces the vortex, but then follows the complete disintergration of the vortex. Around the first 10 days in January.
Spot on forecast there

That's not the beginnings of an SSW is it?

http://www.blogtalkradio.com/wiseguysofweather/2012/10/08/oct-7th--wise-guys-of-weather--joe-bastardi-joe-daleo at 8 mins 27 secs - I know it's another Joe Bas tardi post but still, he really is pushing for a harsh winter this year...

Piers Corbyn says: "The end of october is probably going to be very cold and snowy" Interesting...!

(go to 17 mins in btw [or 24 mins for October forecast])

Cold CFS Run...! (www.weatherweb.net)

What is it with the GEM and it's tropical storm/hurricane addiction?
Noticed this over the last few runs as it keeps on popping up. It's been the same story for much of the hurricane season with the GEM though, springing tropical systems from thin air (or dry air I guess).
Still, it would give the dailymail an interesting headline
