Does anyone know of a good elevated viewpoint in East Yorks?
-
Still seeing distant flickering to the NE
-
Just watching loads of distant flashes from that storm to the north of here

Stoke storm seems to be dying off, really popping off near York though!

Where do you think the best place to be will be I am thinking of heading out to the moors above Baslow.
Somewhere in that direction yep, anywhere with a clear SW view will be fine if the storm survives after sunset
-
Gonna head for high ground soon and await this storm coming from the SW, good thing about September storms is that darkness is approaching already!

Still unbearably hot and humid here, big towers off in the distance which I assume is the storm over the Humber
-
Just topped 31c here according to my station, towers bubbling up all around, I'm off to the football so will hopefully straight out of there at 5 ready to chase!

Just hit 30c here, no breeze at all, feels all the more like mid July than mid September!

With a chance of this weekend being the last large thunderstorm days, decided I’m going to head on my first two day chase. Today going to target a few isolated thunderstorms over the East Mids, ready then to get into position for what could be a big day tomorrow.
Still a lot of uncertainty for tomorrow, so remains to be seen what my exact plans are going to be. Let me know if any of you are also going to be out chasing!
I'll be out locally this evening then tomorrow looks like a trip NW, maybe towards the M62 corridor between Leeds/Manchester

Don't ever feel the need to apologise! Your forecasts and anyone else's for that matter will always be appreciated whenever they're released!

Conditions today feel very similar to September 2016 which saw a big storm moving right up the Midlands into the Peak District

I rate all the storms I chase and in all my years of chasing, the 11-12th August 2020 is at number one.
Did you chase on June 28th 2012? I didn't even have a car at the time so I couldn't, but that day sticks in my mind as the absolute benchmark for UK Storms.
Aug 11-12th 2020 was awesome though, I caught the storms in the Peak District after waiting at the Cat & Fiddle with a few others beneath a blood red moon, the atmosphere that night was something else.
