  1. It has been a glorious day in Plymouth... took this photo earlier. Safe to say it looked better to the eye but a huge gash of red through a sea of little fluffy cotton balls.
  2. Reading this thread makes me wish that when i decided to retrain i'd done Meteorology rather than bloody Civil Engineering!
  3. I'll take start about mid December... end last day of February... i'm not greedy!
  4. Just got soaked going to the shop in Plymouth. Although it is easing now. Going off the winds, rain and time of rain over the last couple of days I am surprised there hasn't been more coastal flooding predicted.
  5. No figures, but I am pretty sure it is raining heavily here in Plymouth as I am fairly wet from a quick walk to the shop.
  6. it can, but we almost need the cold so we can get the crisp leaves on the ground with spider Webs sparkling in the trees. drove to taunton the other evening and seeing the mist rising from the fields was gorgeous.
  7. welcome mate, another newbie here and to be honest I'm almost in awe of all this weather knowledge, thought I was the weather don being able to name a cloud or two.. makes awesome reading.
  8. Couple of hours ago in Plymouth was fun.. soaked to the bone. Heavy drops.
  9. New to this weather watching. How did they look at this time last year as a comparison? Also, just realised that I've been reading your blog for a while now. Really enjoy it!
  10. lol.. I am practically chivalrous in comparison. What a lovely picture.. and they say romance is dead
  11. Again, blue skies in Plymouth and pretty clear over the sound. Quite breezy though.
  12. My bedroom has a bay window with a lead roof... the harder the better. You can't buy that S### on CD.
  13. Sometimes you have to draw a line in the sand and plant your flag.. i decided my matter of principle would be over the central heating and I live in Plymouth.. it's practically sub-tropical! I do provide free hugs and even a hot water bottle if required.
  14. If I can hang on till November I will be very happy with my achievement... but probably single. So swings and roundabouts.
  15. Doing a day to check how much gas we use normally without heating so I can than have an idea of what it will cost when i turn it on. Shared old Victorian house so warming it up is a pain. G/f who also lives in the house is not happy with me depriving her of heat but someone needs to be in control.
  16. Washing out, sun shining although looking out of the window I can see a few cumulus clouds building over the sound and rain forecast this evening.
  17. Plymouth sound looks clear.. get some washing out before the next lot roll in. Was pretty horrible (in a nice wet and windy way) yesterday evening.
  18. Probably wont see a frost here in Plymouth till after Christmas...Been here five years nearly and can count the amount of times i have had to defrost my car on one hand. I do miss the sticks sometimes.
  19. I know mate, it's just one of those pictures that reminds you of a time instantly with few memories thrown in for good measure.
  20. Hey Chris.. I am new too so yeah, Hey everyone! Gotta be 09/10 for me... As I live in Plymouth and that happened to coincide with me heading back to Bucks where we had quite a bit of snow. Every other year we've missed it. Everyone on here has with 99.9% probability seen this but, this year. Love this picture.
