Looks like some hazy breaks in the cloud appearing in the south coupled with clearer slots over the channel and into northern France. Bodes well for thunderstorm development this afternoon once the cap breaks.
I'm not too worried about cloudy conditions here - there is a lot of moisture out there and as long as the storms get going further south I'll happily watch them trundle up here this afternoon!
I'll have a look at some video grabs I got from the Market Harborough storm last night and post them on here if they're good enough lol Some epic pictures this morning!
I admire your optimism. I think we will need an injection of heat personally or these storms will just fizzle like they have been.

Not a sausage up here just a bit of drizzle and tonnes of cloud. Not disappointed as I wasn't expecting anything anyway. This was always an event for the south.
-
Cloudy, 21c, sun trying to break through.
-
Pretty fresh here.. High humidity and about 16c thick cloud cover also. Not expecting a huge amount up here but will be interesting to see how it developes to the south.
-
Usual lack of optimism from me as we have not encountered any decent storms so far this summer. The peaks and the Sheffield shield always scupper us.

The Sheffield shield looking beautiful there

Ooooooh errrrrrrrr!!
Can't believe they are that bad.....
So do they not use any weather service at all?
Or is there a controversial forecasting service out there that provides dodgy forecasts?? You know, using stone scatter and tea leave direction after a 5 minute tea mash to gauge weather????
I think they trawl the internet, find a fact from a reputable source like 'Models suggest that its going to be warm next week' , then create a sensationalist story, twisting the facts which they then sell to the gullible for £££

Met Office messed up proper with this one.

Bit of rain. No thunder here.
-
Showers completely died as they went over us..... and are now reforming the other side. I give up lol.
-
Aaagghh the peaks have swallowed up the energy for us.

Don't think it's live.

Almost constant distant thunder over Doncaster way.
-
Wow an actual storm over us. Unheard of. Booming thunder. Not massively active but ill take it.
-
-
That storm is moving closer to the Sheffield/Barnsley shield and is shedding its clouds in fear
-
That Paris Supercell is looking bloody powerful. Amazing structure
-
Sun is out, temps rising and humidity dropping like a stone. No chance here.
-
One things for certain, they don't make Spanish Plumes like they used too. This is just a rainy day like any other. Heard a distant rumble around 8am but that was it.
-
Is it me or is it all a bit lame?
-
-
Well we have heavy rain now. No thunder I reckon the earlier rumble must have been a heavy lorry or something.
Yeah, missed out here after it Looking promising this morning. Just too far north
-
Well looking at the radar, i'm expecting heavy rain but no fireworks, that seems to gravitating toward the east of this system.. Oh well
-
A cool 13c here with high humidity, grey and overcast. Lets see if these storms can get here.
Spanish plume anyone? Storm and convective discussion 17th July Onwards
