Well this location could end up being the only one without seeing any snow! BBC weather looks awful for here, I did expect at least a covering this morning but even that failed!
Off to cry now!!!!!
Those that have some enjoy it
-
Getting the odd light snow shower on and off, if it keeps up all day I may just see a dusting
-
You and me both dave :o
cheers for taking the time to reply to me, you have lifted my spirits a little
-
Small top ups of 3-4cm's even into the weekend? That easterly this weekend is looking quite potent. There is a potential for more heavy snow from the north sea for a large part os SE England and East Anglia. Potential for all sorts of streamers to set up.
This afternoons snow in the SE will prob be a couple of cm's but this weekend could be a lot worse.
I think a lot of Norfolk will do quite well in the next few days but can see it being a bit hit and miss here again. As to the weekend I supose that will dissapear, as there was talk that this area would get a pasting tomorrow on here, that has changed .......
-
The snow is only 30 miles to our N.
This band is already slowly showing signs of widening as suggested by the GFS. However if your expecting 20cm falls then your out of luck. During today and into the rest of this weekend its going to be a case of several 3-4cm falls constantly topping up our lying snow.
Yesterday proved that nowcasting is far more important than using the Met O warnings or the BBC white blobs. Im sorry but far too much attention is put on the BBC graphics when you should be concentrating on what is exactly happening.
Must admit dave did rather get my hopes up for at least a few inchs after Reading all the hype on this forum! sometimes it's difficult not to watch the BBC and get dissapointed or excited, as they should be getting the details right. I always find that you get it right more then the BBC or met. Cheers for the reply will keep my fingers crossed
-
Obviously you haven't seen that band of snow just to our N which is expected to intensify over our region and move S today. Also the Met O forecast says outbreaks of snow moving W tomorrow.
Dave just don't think we will get any mate, if we do it will just be a few cms if I am wrong I will buy you a few beers
also the beeb had nothing for us tomorrow as it does not reach us
-
Well got lots and lots of NO here! Just seen the BBC weather and looks like I am going to get lots more NO! Think this will be the only area in the uk without any snow at the end of the week, gutted
-
Oh ye of little faith - don't write us off yet guys, the night is still young. We didn't miss it last Feb did we.
But it seems to circle right round us, its ridiculous!! We will probably be the only area in the whole of the UK to miss out from this :o
-
Stop press - met office have turned us (Cambridgeshire) yellow. A step in the right direction!
Thats for ice
-
As expected - not a single flake for Cambridgeshire - it always misses us. All I can hope for is showers drifting inland from the wash area.....boo..!
Sucks doesn't it

Absolutely knew this was coming earlier on....I deserve a medal
Red now for most home counties and more of the SE.
I do expect this risk still to transfer a little further East and south but as i said and make no mistake the home counties are really in the firing line tonight....
well the mets latest update has taken Peterborough off the warning altogether now, my location is now a horrible green..........
-
Tetis do you think we will see any of the White stuff, would be great to get a proper dumping here in Peterborough!
-
Barns on fire !!
getting a very light dusting here in Peterborough, really hope we get some of the heavy stuff!!
-
I think we will get more than a Dusting. further west you are in the county the better.
Looks like Peterborough is only in for a dusting
-
I was wondering how long they would leave it until they changed it, certainly cut it fine!
How long they will leave it before admitting that my cat could do a better LRF than they can..................
-
Just checked my lamp post and its now snow.
If everyone looks at the radar at 18.30 this is the position that its going to roughly remain for the time being except the area near me may move slightly further NW. Now at the moment its mainly blues on the radar which is rather disappointing. However it doesn't mean it will remain this way because we could see areas reintensify.
Decent snow now falling with temps at -1C!
Strange! its still sleet here, only a mile n a half from you. just goes to show!!
-
Yes because like I said the cold front will only move through tomorrow morning.
Rain/drizzle now sleet here in Peterborough
-
We have a nice covering here in peterborough with the hope of some more through the day
-
Radar looks about as promising as a kick in the teeth.
Don't even mention the South East, they have bands of snow down there that aren't even moving anywhere, they will probably see 20cm by Sunday. Me jealous? You damn right I am.
Yup i am gutted too
-
I will be seriously jealous if that happens lol. I may even get desperate and get a train to somewhere like Cambridge or Peteborough on Friday morning Anyone up for joining me?
Andy would not bother coming here (peterborough) doubt we will get anything other then sleet!
-
Temp at 0.4 and Dew point is -3.0 ..... chilly
-
Kettle pot black
