  1. This has been a most interesting week so far wrt the model outputs, I have never seen so much variation at short range between runs! Can honestly say I am enjoying it greatly, although I think we should have a wager thread, where we can place our bets on which model will prove correct (if any)

My other punt is the 9th Feb

    Sorry slighlty off topic

Ps- Thanks for all the great posts from the more knowledgeable members on here such as GP, JohnH, NickS, Teits, IanB ect..... (its a great help)

  2. I really don't get that comment, it has been exceptionally cold for a sustained period of time the coldest in a 114 years isnt it not as in a 50 day period? all good saying there have been colder days colder week periods but its the longevity of this cold thats significant also last febraury delivered the deepest snow since the 80s across most of Britain if you remeber, I recorded 10 days of lying snow then like most areas although its nothing compared to this month but it was still a cold month certainly in the first half so how's it failed to deliver once more? I rekon people are too downhearted by the models that are chopping and turning every whip stich.

Your right, its been cold!! For snow here IMBY I have seen 2cms lasting for one day...... :cold:

  3. 26th consecutive Met-O snow day tomorrow (unless the snow melts overnight). In addition, we had snowfall on the 3 days before there was a proper Met-O covering. So that's 29 days and still counting....

And you want a "sum-up"?? :D Can we wait until the cold spell ends (on Friday) please :D

Well out of this cold spell I had 1 day (yes you read it right, 1 DAY) of snow which measured the grand total of just under 2cms.

So for me this cold spell has been absolute pants

    :D

  4. No its also snowing heavily at my mothers. She told me that in Stamford they had alot more lying snow than we did.

Whats happening is when the precip is light its sleet but in heavier pulses its snow. Odd thing is nothing shows on the radar.

Very odd Dave! might have to go for a ride and go on a snow chase :yahoo:

I watched the Beeb forecast this morning and they are saying the main band wont reach us Wednesday ... (Typical of this cold snap if they are right)

  5. Light snow here for the last hr and the grey slush has changed to white snow. Apparently the snow is even more notable in Wansford according to my mother.

Temps at the moment remain at 0C.

How do you do it!????? Have horrible sleet here :yahoo: I really do give up!

It must just be snowing and settiling on TEITS street only!!!!! Lol

  6. Started to settle here on top of the slush. The grass is still covered although you can just make out the blades of grass.

You lucky so and so!!! You must be in the only place in the whole of the peterborough area where you saw heavy snow and it settled!! :whistling:

I have nothing here my 2cms That I got from this cold snap (which lasted a day lol) has now mostly gone.

  7. As I said earlier, according to Raintoday we should have been covered by now in Peterborough, but certainly on this side we havent seen anything all day, except for the VERY light shower falling now sad.gif

    Slinky, which side are you?

I am just east of Peterborough, as I say its snowing but there is no chance its going to settle unless it absolutely hammers it down..............

    Edit= stopped now lol
