  1. Not been bad today.. VERY humid, grey skies now. just drizzle However i did spot a funnle cloud today. ! Not sure if it touched but still.. Hrhr
  2. Sweet , Just goes to show you dont need a thunderstorm to create them. Yesterday was very un-active. ( Well for us at least lol )
  3. its all good. Its just really annoying when you get high cape and low Li and nothing to trigger storms.
  4. Very odd weather, not a single strike anywhere in the UK. Even on normal days where nothing is expected i see at least a few,.
  5. Woop Woop lol Maybe its a sign of things to come, a single strike this side of europe... Is it the start... AHHAHA
  6. Looking at the latest radars, some showers are now appearing south , southwest & wales.
  7. Use something like http://blitzortung.org and get one of their downlaodable apps to view, Its updated every second with streamed data and then triangulated. or if your really good with code, grab teh raw data from them as a .txt file and generate your own maps.
  8. Oh yes, many times. Not sure if anyone else rememebers exactly when? but 2 years ago we had a huge storm and from what i recall we had cape of around 2000kj , was a stonker of storm aswell. Althogh to be honist, its always nice to see high capes, but 90% of the time the storms never tap in.
  9. It will be interesting as to what Estofex predict for tomorrow. Cant wait to see their forecast. @kentish_sally "(900kj of CAPE - rather unusual for UK so i think GFS is overplaying this idea hence my suggestion of downgrade)" tbh ive seen many time much higher cape in the UK, IMO 900 i think would be fairly normal for this time of year. What i find really uncommon is high capes low lifted and storms that actually use it.
  10. Well well, another hot and sunny day for most. BBC weather / Metoffice are talking about showers possibly heavy for south / southwest & wales Estofex looks fun for europe but nothing for the UK
  11. Dark skies to my south / Southeast Very slow moving clouds tho,Shame there isnt a huge storm , would be so cool .. Feels like there should be tho
  12. Sounds good to me. I love it when convergence lines are directly over me 15:00 Fingers crossed
  13. Fair bit of convection around gloucester/cheltenham however the sky is still very misty.. Im hoping it will burn off but until this goes theres no chance of storms
  14. Thats the site that estofex get their report data from..
  15. Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh STOP USING THAT DAMN TERM MINI TORNADO! I still dont like people calling Bostcastle a freak event.... It would be a freak event if the sky was bright green and raining trumpets. Howwver it wasnt! It was just an bad setup where the storm couldnt move and was being fed by external sources! So i have to tottaly agree with PersianPaladin , i wish these damn reporters would start naming things correctly! Its either a Freak, Mini , Or Major .. Cant we just have a Tornado! without people adding their own spin! Its got enought of that for itself.
  16. That damage is unbelievable! Whats terrible is it looked like it gave up just to come back for more on the landtrack. Terrible. I just hope the folks in that town get all the help they need and not just left out to dry by the US gov. Safe chasing guys!
  17. I wouldnt be at all suprised if it hit 40c THISYEAR ... It almost did last year , only a few degrees out.
  18. Aircraft strikes happen more often than you think, Chances are if you fly a few times a year, you have been struck. Aircraft cabins are designed to spread the charge over the entire craft evenly, Bit like a faraday cage ( if thats spelt correctly lol ) + the fact that your not earthed helps but the main thing is that its spread to minimize possible issues with igniting fuel / shorting vital kit. However , with that said. I would still prefer not to be struck lol
  19. Good luck boyz, Lets hope you get some great storms Oh and the pics to prove it heheheh.
