I entirely agree. This summer has been good- with the exception of early and late July, (the most unsettled spells that spring to mind). August has been great for me, mostly dry and sunny and not too hot. It's funny as Nick said, how one wet day can change someones view of of what has been a generally good summer.

I agree, something definately needs to be done. Unless the forecaster says the word "Thunderstorm", you wouldn't know there were going to be any, it's going to be the same with frost and fog.

Have had three thunderstorms here in the last few hours. What was best about them was the volume of the thunder, it was extremely loud! Around 5pm, there was some moderate rain with a few flashes of lightning. Then at 6pm, there was a quite violent thuinderstorm that passed overhead. What was intresting in this storm was that some clouds were moving South-North, and some East-west. At 7.30pm (last storm), there was less thunder and lightning (but still fairly impressive) but a lot more rain, there was some flash flooding on some of the roads around here, drains overflowing etc. Overall, very impressed, especially as I though the storms weren't going to arrive!!
