2,3c at moment. Expect temps to rise as breeze picks up, Rain band getting into Cornwall far as Penzance at moment
-
The river cerne been cleaned out of all the debris over last few days, which will help a little,But river still very high and fast. Parts of the Frome still very high and some water still on fields, Be interested to hear the state of river Brit? Remember before flood defence work. Bridport got flooding, Around where Morrisons is now would get rather bad at times. Remember some flooding of River Wey, around Upwey area by the ford?Flood alerts issued for Weymouth rivers, I guess if the rain totals are as forecast then the other Dorset rivers will be included.

My neighbours homes still not fully recovered after last flood.Insurance company arranged for them have replacement carpet laid, They only finally got it two weeks ago, Local Church just dried out and nicely decorated for Christmas, Just can only hope river not come visiting again

I am learning how read models and in my opinion your analysis is much needed to give some balance, Can understand why some not wanting to see any opinion that not lead to cold outcome, After all search for cold thread, nothing to do with unbiased assessment from some posters,I'm not posting as much in the model thread anymore. I got abused quite a bit the other night for simply putting forward what is being shown in the NWP. In the end Ian Fergusson commented in support of what I was saying. If my analysis isn't wanted nor needed then there's not much point in me doing so.

Should think there be no drought issues next spring, water table topped up

Met office warning extended to include most of Dorset,Interesting to note, the Meto currently only have an advisory out for Cornwall & the Torbay area of Devon for Wednesdays rainfall event.
Looking at the current charts, and considering its all within 48 hours now, I expect that advisory to widen and cover much more of the South West & West Country.
It's going to be a very wet day for us all.
-
Sunshine and sharp showers today, Just checked Calender, thought might have skipped to April.
-
Seems like winter been going on for long time, yet only 17 days in and official winter not start till 22 December, So far down here in far South we have had a pre winter wet snow event, some nice frosty days, blue sky sunny days, wind and plenty of rain, Certainly not boring
-
Few sharp showers today. Not liking prospect of too much rain next week,

Find Gibbys posts very good to give daily overview.which sometimes can be lost in here, Long may Gibby reign [no pune intended]Would'nt gibby's excellant anylasis be better suited to a specific thread (members forecast thread) instead of being lost in the fast paced model discussion thread ?

Last few winters.apart from last year have raised expectations that snow can still indeed fall and stay around for more than just few hours, I was born one year after 1947 winter, My parents always used 1947 as there bench mark for following winters, Had some good winters in my life time. but would like see another 47 type winter,If only to find out if as good as they said it was
-
Not too bad today, but river did rise quickly, Wind dropped now and dry evening, Hope Frome area water subsided,,,,,
-
Wonder what the Weather will do? Hope it snows dont you [ poets corner]Some say it's not to bad some say it's bad, I say most of you don't have a clue

The year after I moved to Dorset, We had the Blizzard of Feb 1978, I was shell shocked never seen so much snow especially after told never snows much in DorsetLets just hope it doesnt end up being december 2013...
I know real winter is january/february but i think because the hardest part of winter in last 5 years has trended early especialy the brutal november/december it just feels like winters on way out after new year recently with increasing strengh of sun and so on. lets hope for more traditional cold winter later this time around.
