  1. Uppers would be a bit marginal.. As for todays weather.. utterly awful just like the entire summer here really, it has been awful and I'm struggling to see it getting any better if I'm honest.
  2. All that precipitation and a North East wind.. oh if only it was January.
  3. Clear blue sky, slight breeze and a definite chill in the air. Rest of the week look a lot like Autumn instead of late summer.
  4. This is my stock so far.. i add a few bits each time I go to the shops
  5. Flour is in plentiful supply in most shops im going in currently.. it was definitely a bit crazy for a few weeks end if March and into April.. what part of deeside are you in? Looked at a house in Ballater last year but couldn't make it work
  6. Well the sun has come out and the wind has died down. A rather pleasant evening now. Had a lovely meal. All cooked from scratch by myself... lucky Mrs Snaw..
  7. @mardatha we have a weekly menu. We'll 4 of them. One then change etc.. I've also just realised i have a bbq in the outhouse for emergency cooking . Also Happy Friday to everybody on here..
  8. @mardatha I've got oats by the barrel load. Tins of veg, beans and soup. Tinned corned beef and spam. Pasta, rice, noodles and packet mixes galore. I've got flour and bread mixes. Cake mixes. Bottled water and powdered milk. I also have a list for extras that I'm shopping for tomorrow. Also got a camping stove for emergency cooking.
  9. Just a quick one. Does anybody else on here have a winter stock cupboard for when the snaw hits and the shop shelves are raided? I've just started on mine but wondering what others may stock up on?
  10. Heavy rain early door's. Sun came out for a bit but the cloud is coming back in and the wind is picking up. Mrs snaws Birthday today and our wedding anniversary so been a busy morning here. Had hoped for a trip to the beach but not in this. And the planned steak dinner on the patio has been postponed too..
  11. @mardatha its clear blue skies here fir the first time in what feels like weeks so Im not sharing sorry. Wind has picked up somewhat and I can sense doom and gloom for tomorrow. My wedding anniversary
  12. Rained all night, but this morning I've been woken by some mysterious burning ball of bright orange in the sky, I've googled it and it would appear that the end of the world is coming and this is the start.. panic.
  13. @Mr Frost just told the kids it's gonna snaw the weekend..
  14. Just saw a small patch of blue poking out from behind the greyness and even a sudden glimpse of the sun. All gone just as quick as it arrived
  15. Cloud, murk, drizzle and gloom. Sums things up nicely for today and is a sad reflection on this rubbish summer. After days upon days of brilliant weather during lockdown I just knew it would go boobs up as soon as we were aloud out again.
  16. @CatchMyDrift you have a nice gift coming your way.
  17. Just had a look at the radar and it looks to me that that large blob over Northern Ireland is swinging its way towards the members in the boarders areas. @mardatha you might need a boat..
  18. It did try its little hardest to brighten up around lunchtime. Didnt try very hard though. Back to the mist and drizzle and the breeze has picked up a little.
  19. I've just been lamp post watching the drizzle..
  20. @mardatha thats not good.. give it a few months and you will be happy when that rain turns to snaw..
  21. I'm thinking winter will be an up and down one this time round.. i don't see any long lasting deep cold, but I do see snaw for many in the UK albeit short lived
  22. Well the sun did come out this afternoon for about 2 hours. Then the mist and murk came back. And now we have drizzle.
