    Well I've given up hope. Any ounce of optimism I had earlier has now gone. I am going to close all curtains and leave it at that.

    Just had email from our HR office in Leeds saying that they will be closing due to the continued bad weather. I can't confirm any further details.

    Just checked MET O and we now have heavy snow forecast from 2100 to 0500 so hopefully this will produce. Trying to hold on to any glimmer of hope, but taking it all with a very big dose of salt.

    OK so DP and Temp slowly showing signs of dropping at nearest weather station to me. Still getting a mixture of PPN, but increasingly more snowy... But I have a feeling ground is now too wet to get any accumulation. Just a case of watching and waiting, I'm hoping that the fact NL is experiencing snow showers rather than sleet is a good sign for me, just a few miles up the coast.... I remain quietly optimistic.

    Now turning more sleety, but quite a high snow/rain mix. Still some snow lying from Fridays event so all I can do is hope and watch it turns more and more to snow.

    I do remain a bit hopeful, no mention of sleet/rain on on ITV - will take with a pinch of salt. However on Friday the meto had rain for us here and they were wrong.
