    Considering we had quite a covering in benfleet with a couple of inches complete cover, when i got to work in Basildon there was barely a dusting - crazy what difference a few miles makes !

    We've had some fantastic heavy snow in benfleet in the last 90 mins or so. Good covering over everything - definitely at least an inch or so of snow. My friend over in wickford says they've had no more over there, just the dusting from earlier. Crazy what difference a few miles makes

    Last 45 mins or so has been very quiet in Basildon - barely a 2/10. Has been heavy on and off all morning till now.... though nothing has settled on cars/pavements - just a dusting on the grass

    Has just got really dark in basildon, now proper blizzard.... can't see too far out of the window!

    Basildon has been doing well for the last hour or so - coming down quite well here, slows down for a few mins then heavy again.... not much in the way of settling though.

    Just been watching the news.... Hamden in Conneticut in the US = 40 inches of snow on the ground due to the snow storm! Imagine if the UK got anything like that.... It would be like the apocalypse haha!

    One of my friends lives in Boston in the US - they are preparing for 1-2 FEET of snow in the region this Friday/Sat - we could only ever dream of storms like they're about to get

    5.5 - 6cm roughly here in Benfleet in my garden. Snow still going.... Still very small flakes but a lot of them hasn't stopped all day. Shame there haven't been many heavier bursts, which could have added to the total a little. But happy with some at least

    Much lighter in the last 10-15 mins or so.... Hoping it picks back up again would like a couple more cms by nightfall (not greedy honest!!)
