  1. We had 28.2mm overnight so that’s well over half maybe 3 quarters of our May rainfall I think without checking . I don’t mind as long as we have a 200+ hour sunshine month, next week looks better so hopefully we will all get to enjoy some sunny warmth from next week, we all deserve it 🙏🏼

  2. We had 72% of average April sunshine in Exeter, the third month in succession of below average, though we see to have had very roughly speaking 80% of our average monthly rainfall…small mercies I guess. We’ve had so many below average sunshine months the past year or so…hopefully this pattern will flip to something more positive soon

  3. Cloudy, light showers and cool where I am.

Hope to god this weather improves soon, the ratio of cloudy/wet days compared to sunny days is really beginning to do a number on me, I honestly didn’t think it possible this spring would be as bad as last spring but it has been so far.

  4. At least it’s not just the uk being afflicted with this pattern, it’s been northwest Europe and Spain.

I should imagine Spain have been wetter, cooler and duller for for many months too? Would be interested to see the stats for them

  5.  Shunter nothing would surprise me anymore.

On a positive the sun is breaking though here and I think we have sunny spells in the forecast for today…it’s just as well as we have 50 hours sunshine to achieve average before the month is out which isn’t going to happen but hopefully it’ll be less than a 50 hour below average month it currently is (the third in a row)

  6.  Shunter 9c is our typical daytime temperature here in January or February, certainly not what you expect when we are knocking at the month of May door.

We have had the sh*t end of the stick for so long that we forget this isn’t normal or even average weather for us, it sucks.

Hopefully next week we’ll start to see an improvement

  7.  CryoraptorA303 not just the south east…..at least you guys are usually the first to benefit from actual heat and thunderstorms imported from the continent. The south west tends to get the left overs, I’ll give you that we struck gold from mid May last year  all through June with sunshine

baddie well May is our sunniest month here and after the last few mays I expect it’ll be extended that lead

  8.  Wade I wish we did have consistent springs and summers, the jet has been so far south last spring and this spring that we have effectively been having springs I imagine northern Scotland and the Faroe Islands get…it just sucks as I wouldn’t have minded had it been like that in winter then maybe we’d have had snow but these patterns always emerge at the wrong time to actually benefit from with seasonal weather….hopefully the jet sods off back north not to be seen again until late autumn 🍂 😋

  9.  *Stormforce~beka* I know. I think nice weather will be here soon, we just have to be patient and hopefully we’ll have an extended summer.

April will end up wetter and duller for many of us, the third month in a row like this and that’s after a duller and wetter several months the later part of last year too…We just have to feel the motions, which we have every right to feel after such dire weather for months and know that brighter days ahead 💕

Alderc 2.0 hope you get well soon

  10.  *Stormforce~beka* I know, I’m happy for the southeast/London but it would be like a slap in the face. This morning was cold, I thought I’d been asleep for months and woke up in November.

It sucks even more that we didn’t really have a spring last year apart from the last 2 weeks of May last year and it’s the same this year.

  11. I went on the netweather tornado tour about 6/7 years ago, I was in the 4th group, didn’t see a tornado unfortunately but saw some good storms and beautiful scenery of Montana, the Dakota’s, Kansas etc, would love to do it again in the next few years

  12.  *Stormforce~beka* I don’t blame you, it used to be that temperature for us too but i lessoned it last winter when I finically decided to properly program it via a youtube video I followed not sure if it saves many pennies.

We had sun this morning then it clouded over late morning to the usual grey sheet and has been raining the past hour, feels cosy though….I having a feeling the weather is going to flip to something sunny and warm mid May just like last year

  13. Heating has automatically turned on again for half a. Hour then turned itself off, you know I have had central heating for years and only realised this year that it comes on if the temperature inside goes below I think 19c not just at set auto times 🤭 it’s chilly out there.

Is that what the screen means?
