  1. 4 INCHES!!! 10CM down here in Maidstone WOW!!!!! :):D:):D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Ok I will stop with the capital letters!...anyway it really it a whiteout out there. We had a blizzard this morning which added to the deep accumilation there already was. That has stopped and its brightening up now. It brought a tear to my eye seeing all the lttle kids playing about in the snow. They probably havn't seen so much in their lives. Anyway I am starting on my snowman and I put a ruler in the snow and it came out as just over 10cms. That amount was expected on the north downs not on lower ground!. I will enjoy it while it lasts! :D

  2. Woke up to a light covering this morning in Kent. Gritters have been out. When I was out in the valleys where the roads weren't gritted it looked much more pretty! :)

Anyway just cleared the snow of the car and made a little snowman out of it! :) It started snowing down pellets while I was at it which accumilated over the car slightly again.

  3. Just had a light snow shower lasting about 15 minutes here in Maisdtone. Didn't settle but at least it will cool the ground of ready for next week :) ... Another big black cloud has just missed me but it usually happens when its convective show showers. Very suprised that it actually snowed today even if it wasn't much. Looking promising when it can snow evn tho its not forecast.

  4. Confirming phoenix's report from Morecambe Bay, I saw some wet snow here in Lancaster- quite surprising, because I assumed that when the wind veered northerly, precipitation would be in short supply.  It was too warm for the snow to settle, however.

Yeah the snow didn't settle down here in Kent either as the temperature is +5c.

There are now two big black clouds to the north and west and a patch of blue sky to the NW. They better not miss me like they usually do :D

  7. I think you thread probaly needs to go in the January reports section but I will reply my thoughts on this.

I started recording max daytime temps at the start of this January and like you the mean Jan temps was 7.3c. This however is shade temperature and the real temp was probaly a bit higher. I recorded 5 frosts 4 days with sleet or snow. one day where snow settled and 2 days with winds exceeding 50mph.

    Max day-time temp: 12c

    Min day-time temp: 2c
