  1. Wow lightning bolt out of nowhere . Scared the hell out of everybody on the bus .
  2. Seen some absolutely cracking rainbows on the train on the way home . One know in Surbiton as the sun goes down . Beautiful to see. Can't take photos on phone memory full.sorry chaps
  3. Very slow moving intense downpour went through norbury . I'm soaked just walking for the train a couple of rumbles of thunder for good measure too
  4. Yep sleety rain with huge blobs of wet snow mixed in . Have really enjoyed the weather over the last couple of days . Look forward to some heat after this episode though .
  5. I wonder what's falling from the showers in east Anglia at the moment and it feels the temperature has dropped quite a bit?
  6. I know what you mean but I today for sure saw snow in 2 locations . Went to Guildford and it snowed around 4ish but will admit was very wet on impact. I also witnessed a shower in chessington which either side of rain had a spell of fluffy snow in between . Had soft hail showers earlier in the day more the polystyrene type
  7. Just had a shower of rain which turned to sleet then snow and back to rain again. Flash of lightning in the distance to add to boot .
  8. Some great weather interest today convectively who knows what you going to get showers with a risk of thunder. Just had a light sleet shower
  9. Didn't feel too bad today out really . To be honest this weather suits no one at the moment perhaps the odd kite flyer. No garden work , no sun bathing but a few marathon runners would have loved it. I hope we have a long warm summer with a few hot spells and a few storms to come. And of course being a coldie a winter to follow that finally actually deliveries .
  10. Hi all a lovely day today and tmrw looks ok too. On holiday next week to have fun with the wife and kids and it's a shame things look like cooling down considerably. I know my comments the other day about snow caused some exasperation but I can't help it I love the stuff. If it's going to be cold let it snow if not I don't wanna know .To be honest I just want some heat now as I need to do some work in the garden and we all deserve some luck with the weather after all.
  11. Well . Today was lovely actually the first time in ages I've had a day off and I've been able to cut the garden grass for the first time in months. Just saw a forecast reflecting on late snow down here in the late 1980s and then said it won't be that bad well maybe .... Now I've seen Mr Murr posting again. Is it possible we will see snow next week?. ps . Can't believe I'm asking this in April
  12. Occasional snow flurries falling here . Weird looking very dry with funny shapes if that makes sense
  13. Can't see any reports of snow north of London even though radar looks promising . Not sure I can stay up for another let down. But it would be my luck I went to bed and ....
  14. Nice to see some snow falling today even if it was for only 5 mins and I got to show my kids.?. Apparently after I left for work she asked my wife if she could go out and play in the snow bless. It's been a really harsh winter with so many wrong side of marginal events . Our time will come eventually .
  15. Now rain but now in Kingston which is much more built up. Wife says still sleet in chessington
  16. Metoffice updated warning . Nothing special but highlights the uncertainty Rain or sleet is likely to fall onto frozen ground to bring a risk of ice on untreated surfaces on Saturday morning. In addition, some transient snow is possible, mainly above 200 metres where 1 cm may settle for a time very locally. This is an update to the warning since some wet snow has already fallen across parts of the Midlands and may lead to icy surfaces on Friday evening - hence this area is now included and the start time has been brought forward. Please be aware of the potential for difficult driving conditions and slippery surfaces. Clear skies on Friday evening will allow temperatures to fall widely below freezing. Later in the night a frontal band will move in from the northwest bringing a mixture of rain, sleet, and perhaps some transient snow - the snow mostly on high ground, with a centimetre perhaps settling on the Cotswolds and Chilterns for a time - also across parts of the Midlands on Friday evening. However, the main hazard is likely to be ice formation where rain or sleet falls onto sub-zero surfaces, or washes off earlier road treatment. The risk of ice will occur earliest across the northwest of the yellow area before reducing by dawn - by this time the risk will transfer further southeast, although there is some uncertainty as to how quickly this will occur and it is possible that precipitation may not reach the far southeast of England until mid morning when the road temperatures will have risen above freezing.
  17. Was the first one heavier may be cooling affect. So annoying isn't it. That batch around oxford seems to be producing snow that wasn't forecasted so I hold out some hope but not a lot.
  18. Seems to be convection around . Are we all ready for another wild goose chase
  19. Yeah by parents said some wet snow fell in chessington just after 3. Was stuck in work so missed it
