They just said again on the local radio that they are expecting 2 inches of snow to be falling tomorrow afternoon and evening.
-
Just heard on local radio that the snow is expected to start here in Northampton about midday tomorrow and become heavy through the afternoon and evening, same for wednesday and said possibly the rest of the week.
Its usually a pretty accurate forcast too
-
Nearly my bedtime, early start tomorrow for me, good luck everyone for next week!

The best winter that i remember is 1976, it was the winter we had 6 odd foot drifts, similar setup to whats forecast i think? Showing my age a little now lol. I was about 9 at that time, my sister was born then and nearly had to be delivered in the ambulance....oh the memories!
ooops Sorry gone off topic

Hello there. I'm in the NN2/Kingsley Park area.
Yourself?
Hi There!
I know the area well my nan and pap used to live their years ago, i am in Far Cotton.
Been a member on here for some years but not posted for a good while although been trying to keep up to date with the weather threads for this coming week
-
Just put the bins out and feels really cold, hard frost developing, car windscreens are frosted over solid. Feels bitter, dont know what current temp is though.
-
You big tease! If you could find the date that would be great, would be interesting to compare charts, etc...
Hi NorthantsSnow, where abouts in Northampton are you ?
-
The last time I remember a set-up as similar to this on the archives was in the mid-eighties and I will have to try and remember the specific date, but Northants/Beds/Herts/Bucks all got between six and eight inches.
Oh the memories
-
Midlands wise, Northants will be the place to be this week for snow. Staffs and Shrops not the place to be !
Oh God i hope so!
It should be an interesting week!
Happy New Year Everyone!

Hi All and Happy New Year
Been reading for quite some time but not posting.
Totally confused about this cold spell and snow, whats likely to affect my part of the midlands, any have any idea ?
-
After relying on ppn coming up from the SW earlier, now Northants finds itself in the odd position of looking north and west for the next batch.
Still snowing though, albeit lightly. Want that heavier precip further north to head back down to us.
Hi NorthantsSnow
Do you reckon it will or are we about done for tonight ?
-
Stopped here now again
-
I'm starting to think this could be significant here now, 10cm or so is possible.
3-4cm has fell in an hour and looking at the radar it's now stalled and is slowly moving East but theres LOADS of heavy PPN still over Leicestershire, Northants, Nottingham that will slowly move East through the night and theres more out West in Birmingham which we will get in a few hours
The more the better
-
Looking at met office radar and the way the wind is blowing i will be a little surprised if it snows for much longer here, it looks like it wont be that long before it clears to the east here, or am i wrong about that ?
Approx an inch here i think so far
-
Wind is howling and still pretty heavy snow falling
-
Light to moderate (ish) rain off and on here now
-
Anyone now my chances of seeing some thunder here shortly, the radar is looking good but nothing around my area on looking out window ?
Have been really lucky here compared to loads out their, but would love to get a storm here after having a pretty grotty day!
-
Just cleared approx 1 inch of snow from car
Feels very cold out there!
-
Storm here, very little rain but lots of lightning with distant rumbles.Woke me up at 2.30am,went quiet at 3am
-
1cm of laying snow this morning at 8am,soon after washed away with rain.
-
An hour of snow falling yesterday 28th feb in afternoon, none settled though
-
Steady snow here now, starting to settle
-

Yeah and you watch, as soon as the snow comes they will shut the schools as quick as you can blink!, always the same with most of them anyway.
