Starting to wonder if that blob out west will even make it this far.!
-
Talk about snow to the North and Snow to the South... the gaps getting smaller but I’m still in the “no snow zone”
-
It’s like there’s an empty corridor through the middle!
showers to the north, showers to the south and empty in the middle... how does that happen?!
-
Not much in the way of showers.
-
Sun spliting inLimavady too if that’s any consolation!
-
Well let’s hope the meto are right about tonight.
They got today right after all

Well I guess the met office called it right then... for my location anyway

It’s hardy that surprising given recent events in British politics! Met Eireann much better for this Island.
Mmmm trouble is met ie forecast isn’t that promising either.
wintry showers at best here I think and with sunshine between, I doubt there will be lying snow.

Standard no matter what direction it comes from
Is it not due to bucket down with snow on Thursday in the East.
-
Maybe over here in the West it’s marginal as to whether or not cold enough to snow at lower levels? Been like that in past. The temp never quite gets as low as it should.
anyone have friends in the road service?
they usually know what’s going on!

Was wondering the same myself.
i guess the met office are going for just non disruptive cold mush here or else they don’t care cos London might see snow?!
-
Just like to say for the record despite the pinks on the radar it is not snowing in Strabane.. it’s raining
-
Yep looks like after all their whinging and whining, central ad south east England will actually do very well this week.
I guess things can still change even when the met office have warnings out, so will keep hoping
-
Have to say though this time last week, automated forecasts were showing moderate amounts of snow for those places that actually got snow this week.
At the moment automated forecasts not showing much for next week.
would love to be proved wrong, but just saying?
-
Wish I’d not looked in here... I told myself I wouldn’t!
so much potential but so much to go wrong.! And we have no control over it!
everything crossed. Would love a proper snow day.
(so saying took me an hour to get from Limavady to Derry on Tue. The snow cane suddenly and caught everyone out!)
-
Can confirm. Bucketing down in Limavady... sadly have to go back to Omagh now

Even though the automated forecast is not great as it usually is, I am quietly confident for Derry tomorrow. After a Winter of zilch and nada payback must come at some stage!!
Well it’d be great if the weather worked with the power of positive thinking... I’ve tried enough times!
however the forecasts seem to get it right when it comes to snow
hope it goes your way and sorry for the negativity!
-
I’m guessing that based on there being no weather warnings other than for ice, snow showers are going to be few and far between especially if not living half way up a mountain?!
-
Well what can I say.? That’s it, it’s all over!....
I just heard an ice cream van!!!!
-
Trying my hardest not to get swept along with the comments re next week.
I was reading back through thread for this time last year..... the promise, the anticipation, the excitement followed by the marginality, the jealousy, the frustration and the disappointment!!!
looks promising though!!

There you go the dreaded met office update. Game over now in my eyes. That is a huge downgrade and to me what I have been expecting as I just couldn’t buy Into this big freeze scenario. Still chance for snow but that’s a very poor update.
Yip!
maybe it was all a big conspiracy by all the supermarkets to try and get rid of their over stock in salt and antifreeze!

There’s always too much excitement re charts which are often weeks away and only to often as not for these to be downgraded as time gets closer.
From what I can see it looks like. A general trend to cooler temperatures.... yes. Not as dry with possible occasional wintry showers.... probably. A month of freezing temps and widespread snow...Not
