  1. Hi, with the hoped for storms forecast early next week, I have thought about trying to get some decent shots of it if I`m lucky enough to see any at night!!

So, got a remote control and tripod sorted, question is what lense should I be using. I guess a wide angle would be best, what do others use?

Camera is a Eos550D, lenses I have at the moment are 18-55 zoom and 55-250 zoom. Out of those 2 I would assume the first would be more suitable?

Any other tips? Plan to start with iso 100, F7 and 20-30 secs.

  2. Definitely hoping for a drier and warmer 2013. Although grass growth was good, crops were bad and we had to keep bringing cattle in because they were churning the fields up. Poor for wildlife and my hobbies of wildlife photography, butterfly hunting and bike riding.

+1, Am all arable here and it was dire, some wheat never even got cut, ground too wet, autumn drilling a struggle, crops don`t look good for next year, 50% OSR scrap and half the farm going into Spring Barley/Spring Wheat, if it ever dries up enough!!!

  3. Well I don`t wish to put a dampener on things but I have just put the snowplough on the tractor this morning, so that`ll scupper it!!!!!! Rain all round!!!

But in all seriousness if we do get a good dumping I think the wind is going to produce some amazingly deep drifts, it can be pretty hard work trying to keep roads open in these situations almost impossible if the snow is blown off the fields.

I hope you all get what you wish for, am hopeful here in the Cotswolds that we have an epic weekend!!
