  1. Few cm here now didn't expect the showers to merge like that :-)
  2. Thunder snow here and it's a good covering too.... Bring it on !!!
  3. Very heavy here again think its going to be like this most of the day in Leeds
  4. Heavy snow showers here at work in Morley Poor depressed snow starved southerners, I really feel sorry for them that are about to top themselves on the model thread this morning
  5. It gusted at Bradfield 80 MPH plus last week so I was told, the next valley on from me I wonder if it will break that. I cant see us having snow even at 300M think the uppers will be way too warm tonight, but could be wrong. Looks like it could easily be a snowfest for hilly parts from Saturday right through the week if the GFS is to be believed (has done pretty well lately I think)
  6. That's Just across the valley from our house, I read they had 80MPH + at Bradfield, the next valley to the east. I wondr what tonight will bring
  7. A storm tonight into tomorrow and then some serious snow possibilities from Sunday onwards Hoping to beat the 14cm from the Boxing day event Getting the tent up ? LOL
  8. Heavy snow at work South leeds. Radar sees narrow clump of precipitation covering us. Not sure how long it will last for as its being formed off the Irish sea
  9. Just come back from the Northeast heavy snow showers N Yorks white out conditions on A19 in places
  10. Well it has reached here but it's only light rain (at work in South Leeds)...Typical !!
  11. As feared, looks like it might just fizzle out before it gets there, Boo !! The Pennine shield doing the dirty
  12. I wonder if any of the precipitation just coming over wales now will make it to us later in the day or fizzle out ?
  13. On the latest GFS looks like anything snowy in the next couple of days getting shielded by Pennines anything coming west is landing on the west side :-(
  14. Yeah there's space for a tent in the field ;-) ;-)
  15. For snow, it will be a matter of watching the radar to see what's coming I think. These set ups are notoriously difficulty to forecast and we may well be pleasantly surprised, especially for those higher up in the Pennines. Personally at our house I'm more worried about the Wed/ Thurs wind event being high in the lee of the Pennines myself so I'll be closely watching the storm as it comes in to see if its following the forecast track/ timings/ pressure.
  16. Showers of snow pepping up here and a slight covering already, expecting a cm or two by morning
  17. Been to take relatives back roads getting impassable above 200m at the minute no gritters in sight
  18. Heavy snow in Ingbirchworth (penistone)
  19. Maybe not a long time re the age of the earth but definitely in terms of the modern human age 200 years ago Napoleon was still the emperor of France, so as a comparison to our history it is certainly one to note
  20. Just think people even the smallest thing coming at you at 70MPH is going to hurt, much more than a twig and it's lights out !
  21. It sure is..WOW ! it's getting crazy here now in Leeds. Office roof just rattled like cannon fire, gone from a breeze to severe in 5 minutes !
  22. Yep looks like most of West Yorkshire and a touch of South Yorkshire in Firing line now on South East limit of that orange band, where as Met office orange band further North East.
  23. Yep..Hellish Christmas those being flooded, can you imagine ?
