Next batch is currently up near Scotland, so several hours away, not till early hours of morning.
Euro4 is having none of it down here
-
I really doubt there will be any snow overnight for our region and there is nothing showing on any radar which
leads me to think otherwise - the current precipitation over Norfolk is moving SSE into the southern North Sea.
I certainly won't be staying up for disappointment . . . i can have that in bed x

Heavy snow here in Leigh on sea - looks like we are in the firing line

Throwing in the Towel Im surprised at you Steve, you well know that the second half of Winter is statistically more "Wintry" than the first!!!
well, it could hardly be any LESS wintry than the first half . . . .

wow, bright flash and a loud rumble which lasted about 45 seconds !!!!!
-
leaden skies to the south, a few drops starting to fall, ESE breeze picking up and distant rumblings
-
very light dusting of snizzle here - and it's still falling. . . zzzzzzzzzzzzz

Actually looking at the radar a CLASSIC kent streamer is still raging-
This is alligned across the Estuary- diving in through Areas like Inn on the lake & Driving all points SW- With the convection as it is & slow propergation of the change in wind to a North - this is set for a few hours!!!
It should move east towards the Medway towns!!
is it forecast to switch back e or ene to give us in South Essex another shot, Steve ??
-
The Estuary has really filled up today- as the squeeze from the north sinks south & the push North from the channel low exerts an influence- so its all funneling down into our area-
Lots more snow to come & pushing inland as the instability increases
S
this is what i was trying (rather badly) to refer to
-
Sauce? I take it thats on the sub`d version?
rain today premium - predictive PPN indicates that there could be some fun and games later on
-
-
i am loving the way that the raintoday radar is predicting that the channel system is going to head north into the southern north sea to merge with the area of convection resulting in shower/snow heading SW - there could be some serious snow in Essex/Kent later this evening and overnight :)
-
Hi Steve, how do you think we will fair in Southend ? Could we be too far East to enjoy the best of the overnight synoptics ?
-
coming down heavier again after a brief lull
-
almost stopped here in Leigh on Sea . . . hopefully more soon
-
definitely seems to be a more WNW orientation than forecast . . . would this not push the band through quicker than anticipated providing a curtailed event rather than a longer event that a northerly track would have produced ??
-
Feel sorry for the Isle of Sheppey, Margate & Foulness Island lol
. . . . and Canvey
-
lets hope subsequent NAE forecasts don't move the system even further east otherwise this could be more depressing than missing out on Fridays event !
-
yep, good in so much that it would make things less marginal (not that they were possibly that marginal anyway) but it
does somewhat reduce the snowfall amount (the heavier of which is now progged to hit the water instead of land)
a was trying to make this point earlier until i was made to feel rather foolish by somewhere who clearly knows more
than i do . . . .
-
where?
HERE !
-
latest NAE showing the heaviest of tomorrows snow heading straight up the North Sea . . . . . you just couldn't make it up
-
Yay, used to live there, off Whitehouse Road, kids went to Heycroft!!
CD
my kids still go to Heycroft
-
Hope so Jayni.
I think the desperation is turning into panic IMBY!
What we don't want to see IMBY is a correction west of the low. That would be a disaster. Very little margin for error out here.
Those more than say 5 miles inland will be fine regardless.
well . . . i am in Eastwood . . . Thames 2.5 miles to the South . . . Crouch 4.5 miles to the North and the Foulness coast 9 miles to my east
i'm not worrying yet
