  1. Have been in Lymington since yesterday afternoon, we had a bit of thunder and lightning here last night around 11pm. However it seems as though back at home (Worthing) there was even more...
  2. Nice unexpected storm to start off the day here. Had some torrential rain, plenty of thunder and lightning too. Not quite sure if I've ever seen raindrops as big as the ones I saw this morning. It always seems as though we get the best storms when we don't really expect them as much. I was only expecting some 'standard' showers this morning. I'm glad I've finally got a storm this year after not getting one on July 23rd, although I obviously wouldn't complain if there were more in the coming weeks.
  3. Thunder and lightning every couple of mins here, started about 10 mins ago.
  4. Got woken up by some very heavy rain around 3:15am, with a couple of flashes of lightning too. Seems like Saturday/Sunday could be a second chance for those of us who didn't get much action from the storms a couple of days ago.
  5. Had no rain whatsoever last night. Saw a bit of lightning to the north east around 1am-2am which I suppose was something but I was hoping for a lot more. Am I right in thinking that the further inland you are, the greater chance of seeing some action today?
  6. Looking at the satellite, it looks as though the main band is starting to move in an easterly direction, rather than north east, as was forecast. Just hope it keeps up the intensity! Edit: Although the radar suggests otherwise...
  7. Hail in Rennes... (I hope the links work!) https://vine.co/v/hKmKMPqitXr https://twitter.com/Ilugykc/status/358988921029414912 This was uploaded about 5 mins ago, could it be a sign of things to come for the next couple of days over here?
  8. The last storm I remember was 11th July 2012 but it only lasted 10 mins. From recent memory only 28th June 2011 (plume event) stands out as a 'cracking' thunderstorm. I remember it being extremely hot and humid on the walks to and from college that day, I think I got back just before the heavens opened! There may have been one around July 2009 but I can't remember it too well.
  9. http://www.sat24.com...eu&lat=51&lon=2 There's more from the Cherbourg area coming mostly in a north-easterly direction, could be some good accumulations in the next 6-12 hours.
  10. Got about 1cm at most here, with various intensities of very small flakes. Regarding Guernsey, here are a load of webcams: http://www.camscape.com/view/34033
  11. Hi everyone, been reading the forums for a while and decided to join. Got big '50p' snowflakes falling here in Worthing, shame the ground is wet from all the rain, but quite nice to watch
