  1. Looking ahead to this time next week I also feel mid 30*s is easily within reach and the UK record to be close, as for 40*c+ I think at this stage it's a very slim chance. It's still a long way off though. I won't be disappointed to see low/mid 30s, I work outside and hardly any escape from the direct sun. It can do what it likes over the weekend though
  2. Put it on a table and hit it with a hammer Tom How are the "Summer is over" threads going? By this time next week, we might be hoping it is lol
  3. I work outdoors for roughly 9hrs a day, so I'm in the not looking forward to it camp! i also hope the night temperatures don't creep up too high!
  4. Morning all, Monday's come round a bit too quick!! Warm/Hot weather fans will be happy from Friday onwards for a good 7 to 10 days, it's the overnight temps I'll be keeping an eye on. Europe (Spain) showing a 50*c!!!!!!! I don't think I've ever seen that on a European chart.
  5. A mild humid day here on the border of Medway/Maidstone, a few brief sunny spells, also a heavy(ish) shower as BW said above, about 5.45/6pm (I think it was)
  6. I don't mind the warm/hot days.....it's the warm nights that get to me! This morning had a lovely fresh feel, then was fairly warm this afternoon out of the breeze.
  7. Sorry to be "one of them" but what time are we expecting potential storms to roll in? Especially North Kent? I've an elderly relative I've got to drive home back to Suffolk, debating if to speed up dinner and set off earlier than first planned......prefer to be bac k home watching than driving in it!
  8. It was about the 6th/7th April last year we had a tiny show shower, didn't come too much but I seem to remember the temperature droping very quickly during the afternoon. Anyway, lovely weather this week, nice crisp mornings followed by a rise in temperatures during the morning leaving a pleasant afternoon...perfect!
  9. I wonder if the postman will be out and about? I saw a UPS driver deliver opposite, was in shorts too lol
  10. Anyone else suffering from a pressured headache? I'm sure it's the weather!
  11. Imagine if we had the internet in 1987!!! the majority of us went to bed not knowing what was about to happen...
  12. I wouldn't like to say yes or no. 87 the only good thing is it was during the night, tomorrow is during the day which gves me concern not just for our region. Satellite seems like it's a touch further North.
  13. I think local attractions will start doing the sensible thing and announce closures for tomorrow, Leeds Castle for example have announced they will be closed tomorrow due to the weather forecast. If the local radio stations start making them announcements then the majority of the general public will start to take notice. On one of our work sites we ordered things to be put away and anything outside to be secured down, amazing the amount of colleagues that was unaware about this event...or don't want to believe it!
  14. So the first Red is out for the South East, I guess because they'll be getting hit first, more Red Warnings may come after the Cobra meeting perhaps.
  15. Typical tomorrow is the one day I've a trip to take for work from Maidstone to Faversham, not a Iong journey by any means but potentially tricky. Have a decision to make as to go early morning and get back before lunch, leave it till late afternoon and hope the roads are clear or to simply cancel it, looks like a lunchtime/early afternoon peak for us?
