  1. I usually always go with NAE in snow events and it's thrown out a beauty, NAE been up and down during the last Month though but everything backs this up this time around so it's good times ahead. Give me constant light snow anytime rather than a huge dumping but with the threat of rain up your backside like in the West let them get excited about major snowfall totals but well have last laugh, we'll have ours longer. Forget rain can't see it for us apart from the very South Coast.
  2. 24hrs of light snow but consistant is very possible and much better than a large hour snowfall event. I like this thread, alot more relaxed than most forums or in MO threads. It gives a change for everyone to enjoy and discuss.
  3. This only Friday lunchtime so don't panic http://expert-images.weatheronline.co.uk/daten/proficharts/en/nae/2013/01/16/basis12/ukuk/rsum/13011812_1612.gif
  4. I won't be jumping in any car, I shall be marching round to the pub for the day/night/day/night and maybe the following day too
  5. My only worry would be if lived on the far East Kent Coast but even there they will join the party and get a covering imo. The South Coast should do well out of it. Wether or not it turns to rain Sunday is another matter but would not worry at all about Sunday at this stage.
  6. This runs with my snow risk map and depths as we currently stand... METO Snow risk/depth map https://pbs.twimg.co...E_FoM.jpg:large Will also update my own after the next outputs.
  7. I urge people not to keep looking for the negatives because you'll always see/hear them with any event, we even had them in 2010. I can also guarentee that by Friday when snow reaches us you'll be hearing reports of it turning to sleet/rain down in the SW and that will set everyone into a panic also. BUT don't worry about the front weakening, it will do but it'll be over us long enough for a decent snow event, don't worry about the rain breakdown, the uppers and dew points for us are excellent and if your worried about Sunday then take a look at Monday and it's game on for Snow again, I really cant see it turning to rain here in the SE.
  8. The feel like temps for Friday will be Interesting, perhaps even -10*c in the day with that Wind.
  9. Ok it's now looking to me like the snow event starts in the daytime on Friday, I did have this starting in the evening but never mind, does anyone have at hand the uppers and dew points for Friday day? I just hope the main part of this event is not wasted before the temps drop at night, but if it does go all the way through Saturday I won't complain LOL
  10. At this stage the Meto's full focus will be the SW and the fact they dont know how quick it'll turn to rain, turns to rain at night when the roads will become an ice rink so that'll be the focus, once they nail that set up the warnings will shuffle on East, Midlands first then us. Our warning colour should change by this time tomorrow latest and we will get a longer snowfall event imvho.
  11. In terms of workers yes but would still think they would be worried about Sporting events, events in general and Tourists? Although I would of thought most sporting events would be cancelled by that point tbh. Add to that the Airports like Heathrow. London is the link to many places here and across Europe therefore weekends are still generally very busy indeed.
  12. If the upgrades keep showing then your total will go up slightly lol but not worth getting excited about potentially 4inches + yet
  13. Nope, I can't see it, Sunday maybe for those around the Coasts but even there the temps look borderline.
  14. For ease say between Sevenoaks and Dartford so your in the good zone as it stands
  15. Ok here is my updated snow risk map for Kent, based on this morning outputs, knowledgable posters in the forum and meto updates, zones have stayed the same currently but Northern Areas of Kent may join Western area zone later today,
  16. Yeah but still suprised at one so close, we could probably see eachother out the window
  17. Totally different set up on Friday though (direction), I'm not that knows all the ins and outs of types of snow.
  18. Computer generated rubbish I believe? Never take much note of anything like that, only computer based forecast I do look at is Meto. That Metcheck had me down for 10days of snow over Christmas lol
  19. I honestly reckon we will enter the Orange Zone of that warning by the end of today actually, purely because they will be worried about the impact in London. We still need few things to go our way to get decent snowfall out of this event but I'm confident of 5+cms quite widely, maybe 2cm on the far East Coast of Kent.
  20. WOW never thought I would see another person from this area in a weather forum, Hi
  21. So the Yellow Alert is out for us on Friday as expected http://www.metoffice...t_warnings.html I expect ours to change to Orange also maybe late tonight or by tomorrow lunchtime, I suspect the SW is Orange already purely due to timescale.
