Listening to the deep dive from the Met Office and the reference to the rapid cyclogenisis only taking place a few hundred miles West of Cornwall tomorrow afternoon, how accurately can they actually model the track at this stage?  Does it increase the "error cone" substantially in comparison to a mature storm coming at us from distance?

I'd imagine the track would look like a diablo at this stage??

16.6 C after a top temperature of 20C today . Grey first thing , then brightness , then brief sun , then overcast and now heavy rain .

I'm glad you are on the mend @Dorsetbred, you'll get plenty of exercise removing the critters from your cucumbers.

I'm just keeping an eye on my scar as the pain has intensified and woke me in the middle if the night , there's a lump forming too . This afternoon it felt very warm to the touch and im hot one min feeling a little chilled the next .  I'm hoping it's the healing process and not anything else because I'm only a week past finishing antibiotics . It looks dry and not weeping so who knows ?

Yesterday I felt really good, tired yes,  but really thought aha this is more like it .

If things continue to get worse I'll phone the hospital dept for advice .

I think it's a blip though and nothing sinister.

Get it checked out ASAP!!! Not to scare you but if it's hot to the touch......ring 111 or get straight to the hospital. I lost my best mate to sepsis last year! Only 39. Gone within 48hrs of contracting the infection! This could be serious.

Sorry to pop in and be so dull and morbid 😥

  3. Hi all,

I have organised a charity football match (3 months ago) for this  Saturday..........what are the chances of it staying fairly dry? The met app says light blustery showers but other apps say it's looking terrible.

We have approximately got over 200 people coming for the day but only enough indoor space for 50ish!!

Not risking a gazebo or 2 as it's going to be windy.  😩😩

Please can the gfuqhgfpjhing about The Met Office stop or go off to the correct thread?

They are not idiots, there is no hidden agenda, they are doing their best in what is a challenging situation.  Perhaps we should all say what we think the maximum gust will be at our nearest weather station will be and see how good we are at forecasting?     Er, Shoeburyness 71mph.

I’m really worried for my neighbours house, their house burnt down last summer after a neighbours BBQ got out of hand. The builders despite working 7 days a week haven’t got to the stage the scaffolding can come down. Most of the roof is on but the windows aren’t in upstairs. I hope that scaffolding doesn’t collapse causing even more damage. I might have to set up a camera if is as bad as expected down here.

I'd be surprised if it stays up!!

  6. So.......all I can see is a polar bear sitting down and then a polar bear lying down.

I will learn to read charts but reading your comments are far easier for me.

Been lingering for a few years now (probably 10+years come to think of it) and it's good to be back here again this year.

Thanks to you all for your informative posts, really appreciate the time and effort you put into this awesome forum. Fingers crossed for a cold winter.

    Cheers.
