    Day 4. Still going strong.
Work busy, but only as member of staff off sick - so team of 9 was down to, well me and Gay my temp.
So did well -no fags no cravings just worked hard. And yes had 2 pints after work as a treat tonight.

So now got through half the week - fingers crossed- have we broke it?

I have been to the Doc's. No, still not smoking, but went for a training run yesterday for a 10k I've signed up for. And tore my hamstring behind by left knee .
Doc thinks I'll be fine, just hope that it heals before 4th May.

I have been dianogised with Depression and Anxiety- and finally I've recognised that I need help. It all came to a head on Saturday night, when I did somethings which I deeply regretted. I won't go into details, only my close friends have never been so worried about me and told me straight on Sunday/Monday to go off sick.
My Doctor has been fantastic and has told me that I will in this for the long haul and he has given me a tablet called Citalopram. The ironic thing which I couldn't get is that I should be so happy at the moment having only been married for less than 2 months- but again my Doc has told me that depression can hit at any time.
If the weather stays nice, I will be doing some things which I have forgotten to do. Like sit in the garden and read and do crosswords.
More importantly, I want to be me again.

Started work at 640am- finished at 315pm. Lovely.

Home to avoid all the works christmas parties. We cancelled our at work. No interest. Boring lot.
I'm going out next weekend. On my own. No nasty work colleagues to deal with!!

Today I have spent the day producing 200+ resident parking only permits for residents of Plymouth.
Following events in Southway- that seems and is totally pointless.

My thoughts are with the parents of the girl killed today.

    Facebook.

Odd beast. Yes you can be become friends with people you know very well and love, but equally out of the blue, someone clicks on your profile and asks to be your friend.

Nothing unusual, until you realise that this person generally made your life unhappy via bullying some 15 plus years ago. OK they may have changed as we get older, but do you accept them as friends????

Bit of an odd one that.......

    Right here goes.
I've been reading Net Weather for some time now, and only came across the Blogs last week, what a great idea, I thought, I'll start one.
So who am I, and where, what etc. Well my screen name says it all, I'm Phil and I live in Glossop in North Derbyshire. Actually I live in Dinting which is 2 miles from Glossop, but who's spliting hairs! I live with my partner Daz, who's I've been with for some 4 years now, and we have two dogs, Will and Tasmin. Oh and 3 cats.
I'm orginally from Plymouth in Devon, and we moved north because of work. I work in Rotherham, in South Yorkshire, as the manager of the parking attendants there. OK, this could make me the most hated person on here, but I do seriously enjoy my job, not least as I have the BEST drive to work over the A628 Woodhead Pass every day. On a clear day you can see as far as Hull, Leeds, Huddersfield and Manchester. On a bad day, you're lucky to see your bonnet! Daz works in Manchester as a lawyer, so if it's raining or the weathers bad there (ie snowing), he emails me at work and I set off home.
My house is just on the Peak District National Park, nice and high up with lots of lovely walks for the dogs. Took the dogs out this morning on the old Woodhead railway line and we had our first real frost of the winter last night. I have strong feelings this winter is going to be a rough one, not least as the weather was just too settled in the autumn.
Anyway must get on- kitchen to clean, shirts to be ironed for next week, oh and Eastenders to watch as well. It's all fun you know!

Sums up my day. There was a bad accident last night on the Woodhead Pass and one this morning on the Snake Pass. You could see all the flashing blue lights from tescos car park at 630 this morning.
I decided to take it really slowly on the back roads, but of course some plank decided that 30 mph on an icy road wasn't fast enough. So he over took me. Plonker I thought (you know the real word I thought). Get around the next corner only to find the Vauxhall Vectra half in the wall, half on the road. Got out, warning triangle out, ran police and check the guy out. He was fine, think it was the shock for me, but i swore at this guy so badly. not a nice thing to do, but he was so lucky to escape with this life. IF he'd spun theo the other way he'd have gone down a 100 ft sheer drop and certain death.
Anyway quick trip to Rothy Police station for my statement this lunchtime (Glossop police said that would be fine), but summed the day up. Poo from the start.
Ah well Friday= wine. And Gin. BOY DO I NEED IT!

Was in work yesterday- having been off sick with a cold last Tuesday, when at lunchtime I went into the toilet and promply threw up solidly for 5 minutes.

Came home from work, and threw up all afternoon and then it started from another area.

Therefore, I am in bed as a type this.

So thats my sickness record out of the window, but no way am I going to work like this.

Well I hope you all had a FANTASTIC Christmas. We've got home from sunny Plymouth about an hour ago. Lots of partying, fun, frolics, and I've got a black eye (but then that's what happens when some of my friends get rather silly on alcohol! Play hitting got slightly out of hand )
Actually it was all rather nice, catching up on all the gossip and seeing who's seeing who now. Went to church Xmas Eve, had mince pies with my Aunt and Uncle on Boxing Day, just the usual, normal NICE Christmas.
Oh and come home to snow!!!!!!!!!
Perhaps 2005 will end in a good way!
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL NETWEATHERERS and BLOGGERS!!!!!

Well it's been an odd week, snow Monday, ice Tuesday, wet since.
Home life is good, with my new PC coming tomorrow morning. Thanks to AOL messing up, i have a new router (£80) for free working, meaning top speed broadband. EXCELLENT
Work, well thats a different matter. For reasons I can't go into, i've spent 3 hours with the police today. Thankfully nothing wrong with my Parking Lads and Ladies, more helping for a neighbouring force in an enquiry. I've been able to talk to Daz about it (thank god I've got my rock), but it's worrying and hopefully I've been able to help them.
Mind you I have made a lovely discovery this week. MINCE PIES WITH BRANDY BUTTER> .

We all feel nervous when we have a job interview. The thing is being on a panel of people doing the interviewing isn't much fun either.
You have 10 set questions for a council job in Parking. Most are fairly standard- but you get the same responses time after time- hence you end up concentrating looking for the unique things the person says. So you come out having done the interviews feeling like you've gone 10 rounds with a boxer. And remember, the interviewee only goes through it once. Yesterday I had 5 people to see.
Hence, the next time you go for an interview, remember, the interviewer will have to do the following.
    1) Concentrate harder than Lewis Hamilton on a Grand Prix for up to 8 hours.
    2) Miss any lunch, as interviews generally clash with a lunch break
    3) Think they've found the person only to be blown away by other person
    4) Try to remain fair at all times - even if by the end of the day, you've got a banging headache
    5) Will have taken enough Vicks to stop the cold they have getting worse by the minute.
Therefore, I hate Interviewing. But telling a colleague they've been promoted after 3 years of hardslog is an excellent feeling . So it's not all bad.

    Been an eventful week.
The oven caught fire last Sunday  the thing was old and knackered but the fire was quite spectacular. Anyway, firemen came around and put the oven out, the roast was ruined.
So it's been insurance forms all week. We lost the kitchen lino (melted), ceilling (burnt), worktops (nothing wrong with them but we're claiming as they are old ).
its been microwave meals and takeaways all week. But the new oven is due next week, and hopefully we'll have a kitchen in the next week or so. Fire wasn't the problem, its the smoke damage.
To be honest, it sums up 2005. Can't wait for 2006.

I was told last week on top of stress from work, that I need an op on my knee.
My cartilidge is gone in my left knee. Now this set off several problems for me.
The last time I had an op in 2000, I spent 10 days in ICU on life support from a mistake from a surgeon who cut through an artery when my appendix had to come out. So I had 2 op's in 5 hours.
Next problem- this has left me scared stiff of hospitals. Big style.
So, muggings here, was think until today, take 3 Ibropuben each night for the pain, I'll be fine. Until today when I moved some office furniture around. Tonight I am in agony in my left knee.
I was hoping for the depression to be off my sick record, but here I am, resigned to an op and the daft worry about an op, plus the daft worry about the potenital sickness from my knee.
    Daft huh?

Today is our last full day in Glossop.
Left work yesterday, and had a serious panic atack in the middle of my presentation- so much so, my boss thought i was having a heart attack. :o
It was a combination of no food, stress and too much beer the night before, but boy has it scared me. Think I'll see a doctor as soon as a get home to Plymouth.
Wish us luck, as we move some 300 miles south, back home.

Just come back off a little break in our new caravan. Been staying in Okehampton- lovely little site.
Back to work tomorrow. Not looking forward to it - we had Job Evaluation results last Friday. I was lucky, my team not (they lost £4000 each). God knows what I'm going back to.
Good news - still not smoking.
    New job perhaps????????

Today is day 10 without a ciggie.
Now moving into the 2nd phase of the relationship when you've split with something.
I HATE EVERYTHING  I will not give up on this mind.
The only thing that's keep me going all day is the thought of the final of "Laddette to Lady". Well I need a laugh.
Knee better- will try a short run tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
Hows you Louby? Thanks for messages by the way!!!!

OK so day splits into 2

Normal daytime, got the ceiling decs up (via Jeremy Kyle and Trisha). Helped Darren's mother (my mother in law) sorted a loft of winter clothing out and charity shop stuff out.

And then had chinese take away. Till 1 hr ago.

And Kieron came over. Our mate Dave over the road has been burgled. Badly. So a lovely day has ended with a mate in pain. In his words he "feels like he's been raped". That not words. His. Poor Dave has lost TV, DVD, Camera, Pixil Camera, his lounge cushions"?!?!!" and his Jaguar sports bag from school. D+C police been round but not a chance of getting anything.

And to copp it worse? He's off to Brussels tomorrow morning on hols at 6am. Poor Sod.

Sorry if I swore I would, but I could spit. 2 hrs out for a drink with us and this happens........
