Yeah they are pretty hit and miss and you have to persevere with them. Some nice views from a few of them on the south coast at the moment. Not stopping 100s of people having fun on the beaches though. Hope they brought a brolly.
I always assumed an umbrella would make a great lightning rod but apparently, it's a myth!

Looking out from Devon. Dark
I rarely get those camsecure webcams to load for some reason.
Found this one at Falmouth, good frame rates. On the fringe of the beast however. http://www.harbourlights.co.uk/webcam/

Great pic, the only good thing about thunderstorms during the day is when you get good sights like these as they build up
Thanks, and absolutely agree. The storms we had back in May were great but were a real mess by the time they arrived.

Looking at the webcam footage, I am not so sure I want that!
Some pretty severe convective gusts it seems!

Managed to capture some shotgun thunder from this morning's storm. It seemed to be really close by but bizarrely had a 9/10 second delay from lightning to thunder. Still quite a jump scare :).

Well that was fun, not quite a humdinger, constant, distant thunder and lightning, then one mind-meltingly loud strike (+cg??), seemed to suck all the energy out of the storm, then nothing

Something loud wet and angry has just woke me up, couldn't be more pleased

Interested to see if NetWx-SR is in any way accurate with its development of cells over south-west England at roughly midnight, met-office shows very little at this time.
-
Ugh I so want to go to sleep but the radar won't let me.

Have seen several very bright but distant flashes of lightning and some deep but again distant thunder. Could be a long ol night

A few big blobs of rain here, the sky is not looking particularly threatening though. Hoping that some of showers in South Wales spark to life and head this way. Pretty please.
