  1. Stupid question, but when are GLOSEA expecting to arrive at neg NAO in order to make the sharp depature
  2. Yeh, Steve snap out of it man. Why not join with GP and find a route to cold instead of sounding like IDO. Come on, ye know ye want to
  3. What about the day 16 charts posted this morning. I take it that is different
  4. I seem to remember Dec 2012 something very akin to what's happening now. At that time there seemed to arguments regarding short wave spoilers on one hand and the atmospheric long wave pattern not being conducive to a cold pattern on the other hand.Well, after all that's been posted about a favourable hemispheric pattern in the last two months it's refreshing to see nothing has changed in that talk of a cold pattern can disappear quicker than snow of a dyke
  5. The Sun the won wot won it.......heaven forbid and please by the mercy of all things icy and cold.........NOT
  6. If people can't feel their half empty glasses being suffiently chilled in light of some posts this evening then it beggars belief
  7. Yada, Yada, Yada...... the perennial chatter and clichéd metaphors of torpedos getting launched and trains leaving, and all things cold landing....and...... Yada Yada Yada. Maybe the entire netweather community would like to join me in sending our best wishes to the train carrying -10 uppers that hit the buffers last week, after a suppose shake up in the Northern hemisphere. We wish them a speedy recovery and hope the weight of expectation doesn't stop them traveling in our general direction sometime soon.
  8. Whilst there is no one else on the garden path, thought I take the opportunity to acknowledge the wonderful post by Mr Holmes who acknowledges his interpretation of the models may have been slightly off the other day. Such a rare occurrence in this thread and one more people should follow.
  9. Just outside Glasgow city centre, 4/ 5 inches of snow and the most magical day in the park with the kids. Absolutely life affirming stuff. Sod the doomsday charts from 7 or 8 days hence if ye get a dumping get out and enjoy and forget the GEFs ensembles or whatever other statistical morbid fascination is at play with posters who will not or never enjoy what is happening in front of their noses. An emmotional response to such a wonderful thing is what makes having to suffer the relentless statistical negativity worthwhile.
  10. S Seriouly hope your correct and maybe I should stay away from that particular thread. So bored with posts starting with an obvious premise ( atlantic wins) and working backwards predict the weather ( relentless lead grey skies and incessant rain hammering the North West ). This has no real merit, even if ultimately, in times like this ,it is proved correct. Waiting for the enevitable ,lets see what March brings type posts.
  11. Watched countryfile forecast. Pitiful. Will probably have to endure posts of relentless tedium relating to percentage play about prevailing westerlies and bog standard climatology. How dull is that? You'll soon be able to drive a tractor threw the model thread as the traffic plummets reading about GEF ensembles 16 days hence. Pure mince.
  12. Model thread is so utterly depressing. Might as well post "prevailing westerlies and odd flirt with someting different", instead of charts upon charts upon information which Is effectively bog standad climo. Starting from this premise, backtracking to finding charts to justify it, and then going on about ad nuaseum is utterly pointless and kills the fun and excitement sone dead. How to sustain the magic of having a Northern Hemisphere winter climate. Not.
  13. Hello everyone. First Time poster. Steve Murr posts were the thing that sustained ny interest in the last couple of winter seasons. I looked for them in the gloomy days at the start of 2011 and had high hopes of a hisorical not hysterical winter this year( see what i diid just there ) How things have changed. Much as hate to do it i hope he is as wrong now as he when talking up winter during October and November (, Four wave pattern, Block City Arizona and some parts of Scotland being under snow for the entire winter ) Come on Steve, when ye were wrong, at least ye were fun and hopeful, Please get with the programme,
