Sure about that? You did say "Dry as a Sahara run for most of UK."
"Most"

Colder with some chances of some snow, especially in the north. I know this because the Met long range forecast says so. It could be wrong, but it's more likely than the Hope casting on the model thread

Fwiw (as it was mentioned further up) the Met Office long range forecast (11th to 20th) talking of "significant snow and heavy rain for parts of the south" and "increased chance of colder conditions and widespread snow for the UK, but also" milder and wetter interludes".

Reasonably heavy here in NW Leeds.

BBC has low temperature for my part of Leeds as - 11c tonight.

A reasonable amount of snow has fallen in NW Leeds since 8pm when the paths and roads were all clear. My side road probably got an inch or two of snow on it. Gusty too, so it's blowing around. I opened the door and it's a bit chilly in that wind.

Everyone on Facebook having a good moan about the ‘useless Met Office’ lol
I'd rather it not snowed, can't be bothered about it these days. That said if it's going to snow it should be proper snow
Surfaces too warm and too wet I think. It has snowed quite heavily, just not the best conditions for it to settle.

Pretty "meh" here in NW Leeds. Daughter sent home from school at 11am yet pavements and roads were clear and still are.

A few showers coming in from the west at the moment. Might get some snow here in NW Leeds.

We did a quick 30 minute test and put it in for 30 mins at 16c. Cost was nearly £1.
We've no cavity wall insulation and front windows aren't double glazed. Going to be very expensive if it gets cold. So far we've not had it on, temperature has been as low as 15c.

Sadly couldn't bring my weather station to Leeds (yet) so relying on those of you close to Roundhay to see what temperature we reach in Leeds. All i know is it is a tad warm.. Had to move downstairs last night. So far mostly sunny but there is quite a bit of high level cloud around.
Local station in Moortown showing 89f at 10:42am

Leeds Bradford Airport reporting temperatures of +6F compared to this time yesterday.
Leeds University reporting temperature +11F compared to this time yesterday.

Trick is to open your doors and windows when it cools down (I did it at 3am when I was awake for 20 mins). Then when the outside and inside temperature is equal in the morning shut all doors and windows, plus curtains and interior doors.
People with windows open for a breeze are just letting hot air on their house l, then when they shut them it's got nowhere to go

Leeds Bradford Airport official weather station showing a high of 33c.
Leeds University weather station showing a high of 36c
A few miles from each my local ones showing 97c, although I suspect calibration is an issue.
My garden thermometer showing 32c in the shade (under a tree).

Watching a streamer chance coming towards North Notts again but keeps breaking up....
Met office shows nothing all night
Bbc weather shows heavy snow all night
I give up
Haha
I've got a similar forecast. I sense the MetO is correct, as they have been all day to be fair to them.

LOL @ This tweet
"How about correctly forecasting what will happen to the weather as opposed to telling people what’s already happened. “Fore-Cast”. Before......... you just can’t do it. Please retire your whole team."

The weather apps are ridiculously useless in these situations - you have the symbols switching every hour or so. I think I'd be more confident of snow if it was showing full sun
The radar gives better insight really. It's always interesting in passing to see how the forecast actually turns out....
I dont really expect very much, too showery and quite dry snow. It would need a really heavy sessions to get some accumulations, which is possible, but not county wide imo.
-
In general they are too showery and the wind is moving the showers on quite quickly so no real time for any accumulations of note. For my part of the world the BBC is still saying plenty of heavy showers, whereas the MetO are going for the occasional one with light now. So far the MetO have had it broadlly correct.

It's usually best to stick to the professional forecast which they nailed down the general theme. Only query was where the low went which now seems much more certain.
That other thread is hilarious. Not many impartial attempts at forecasting, just hopecasting and disappointment. Always worth a laugh for non forecaster like myself
