Heavy snow, settling on grass and dustbins. Also cracks of pavements. First classic signs!! COME ON!!!
we just need temps here to drop for it to stick on the pavement..otherwise grass as snowcover..wheelie bins not yet lol
-
coming down really heavy now and sticking
I hope so too liverbird its certainly chucking it down with big flakes of snow
-
Gosh I hope the heavier snow is coming my way! Snow all around us here still doesn't guarantee snow in South Liverpool. We're off out with the dogs soon to the shore. We can see the Wirral and North Wales mountains all covered in snow from there. Hope it carries on snowing here and settling - it's getting better by the minute!
it should be snowing where you are, and also exp3ect an heavier band to pass through, think this may well last a couple of hours..its quite heavy here ow
http://www.itvlocal.com/meridian/live/ click on nw for pier head it look iminous, before you could see the wirral now you cant see anything over the mersey :o
that extra 10 miles in does make a difference
-
Looking at how the percipitation is trekking, we should recieve that in liverpool soon? Hope so, its appeared to turn to sleet now, with just light fall at present.
theheavier precip on the radar is starting to move into the liverpool area
its getting quite heavy here
-
we now have moderate snow, flakes slowly starting to get bigger
-
They never said accumulation
Snowing VERY heavily here now though wow, i have seen it this heavy for a long long time.
temperature now 2.8C
they did on the radio lol

Quite weird here in Liverpool...snowing quite nicely, but flakes are all different sizes. No sleet though. Haven't seen such a varation in snowflake sizes from the same fall?
bbc weather now saying from north wales and merseyside to see periods of snow tonight with accumation
-
Well i can see some nice ppn over the hills to the north of Rochdale but broken cloud above me and not a single flake ... oh wait I see a couple passing the window now
an even heavier band is going to come through in the next hour i would think, feels really cold outside contrary to the actual temperature lol
-
finally snowing christ how long did that take? small to medium sized flakes coming down hopefully that heavier stuff out there wont hit too soon, so that temps can cool down a lot more
-
-
No snowfall here. I can see this being another major let-down.
Whilst the rest of the country has and is expected to experience further widespread heavy snow events - when will we get our turn this winter if ever?
This winter has become a running joke for me and alo of people here in the north west.
indeed
-
Very light......rain here atm! Temp 4c and DP of -1c acc to nw data. Not looking good here.
dry as a bone here..waiting for that heavy ppn to hit us..very strange how its producing snow on the coasts and 10-12 miles inland its dry and wall to wall cloud
-
It feels to have got a lot colder in the last 1/2 hr but my thermometer is reading 3.1c B)
thank god for that the dewpoint as returned to 0 hopefully it will continue to fall along with the balmy bloody temperatures :o :o
i dont think that snow will reach us properly until well after dark..which could bare a dumping if that radar is right..
also that sleet line seems to be fading away too which could be good news, seems the bbc are expecting the wind to change to a more southerly direction later on pushing the snow northwards up over the northwest producing heavy and persistant snow for a while..
-
You have a temp of 0.0c and your dewpoint is at +1c? Didn't think that was possible, i'm pretty sure its lower than that B)
got a temp of 2.4C and dew point of + 1C am sure that dew point cant be right, especially looking at the radar and reported dew points everywhere nearby lol
-
Bigger snow flakes now and as far as I can see there is no rain with it, should be good for you guys further east and higher up.
your lower down than i am 0.o and i have a dew point of 1C unless my weather instruments in the garden are wrong lol
if you are registering a drop in temp, surely i should be seein that here, certainly does feel as though it has got colder.
latest nw gfs precip radar
-
It's snowing here in Chorley Not big flakes but pently of them so peeps in Blackburn, Wigan etc...should be reaching you soon.
Temp 3C
Dew Point 1C and rising..i guess the nw radar is way off the mark with imaginary snow over us lol
BBC 5pm and the whole of the northwest will be under heavy snow even at the coasts 0.o yeah right and the met office will one day get a simple forecast right for liverpool :  -_-
-
interesting forecast 130 N24 for 5pm but then again what they saying to what it is doing is another thing.
Blizzards blowing through the midlands..this takes the biscuit for monday night/tuesday
-
Its all very touch and go, and I havent seen a flake for a while. They were fast falling which suggest they were on the verge of sleet, some of them were the floating type snowflakes, but I'm not sure there is much more on the way.
doing nothing right now since the cloud moved in.
-
Good news, its 4.6C with a dp of -0.5C here and Ive just spotted a few flakes falling from the sky, so it looks ok even for marginal areas it's just a flurry though so I dont know how long it will last..
looking at the latest radar sp its could be looking good for you, if its snowing there, then it should here a little bit of hope at least
-
Don't get this one - just watched BBC red button multiscreen weather (don't know how recent it is) and didn't look prolonged/snowy at all - mainly a wintry mix. Looking at current radar would sugest otherwise. Mind you - B'pool airport DP now at 1c and Temp at 3.5c so they might well be right at least for here. This since cloud has thickened. Crikey this is frustrating!
Blackpool Airport Weather if anyone's interested as a reference point -

actually this maybe a little better blackpool taf & explanation of forecast i never use wunderground..they couldnt get the weather right here if they tried especially for liverpool
it has to be recent because at 830am it had the whole of northwest under heavy snow from around 3pm til 11pm..between me and you the beeb are a bit clueless what will happen..this is the latest nw gfs precip radar
-
how can you have 5.1C and broken cloud? its only 2.4C here and our dew point marginal at 0C, hopefully now temps will drop down being its now 1pm, since that sleet band on the radar doesnt seem to be getting anywhere thankfully. It's been uniform grey/white now for about 20 mins.

I have a funny feeling we may get something out of tomorrow nights low pressure, it has been drifting further North on every run - you never know.
be lovely if we did..would love to see some more snow and not just a dusting this time lol
just had another look at the radar and it seems to have intensified and slightly changed direction as if its following the north wales coast round to the wirral.
take a look at how fast this is developing
