Good day everyone. Hope we are all well.  Quite the wet night and soggy morning today. Did feel much cooler though which seasonally speaking is pleasing. Sadly, I appear to be experiencing a little poor health so have to kick back and enjoy the weather through the window for the coming days. Or taking very, very small walks while I recover. I missed the chance to get out and enjoy clear and cold, crisp sunshine over the weekend. So hoping that even if we don't get snow, we will get some crisp sunny days to attempt those little walks where my health allows!

@TN9 those videos look lovely! Very lucky folks.. im not jealous, much.. although id swap the t shirt for many more layers. I do like to be wrapped up snug for a stroll in the snow and make new memories.

Wishing you a speedy recovery 🙏 then take some pics on your small walks, if it's not raining of course 🤭

It was zero here last night 👀 but it felt colder. Has an Easterly been mentioned😲

Zero in Tarmac City 👀 My word, what will happen next ☠️

Don't know as I haven't read the MAD Thread today but there's much chatter about Easterly winds, unsurprisingly when there's a big fat Scandinavian HP.

Only a matter of time before an Easterly chase happens in the MAD shop, just the mere mention of it in here has started many dancing feet for the end of the weekend by the looks of it 💃🕺

    🤭

  3. Today's Low Temp  -3.4°C  at    6:09

    Got reasonably low.

Guess we wait until late week when it should dip again 🤞

For the record, I have never seen the temperature dip below zero when it snows, it's always up to 1c or there abouts. The Dew Point is a different story and is always below zero, the lower the better 👍

That's what an Easterly is good for in this neck of the woods, not snowfall lol 😆

  4. Interesting information from Nick in that piece.

Particularly the following which I had not heard with regard to an Indian Summer in its original locale of East Coast, North America.

'According (to) an American Weather Historian, David Ludlum, it is said that in some areas that a true Indian Summer cannot occur after the first frosts of Autumn, a period known (as) a Squaw Winter.'

I know that it does not relate to a UK spell of weather but interesting none the less. 🧐

  5. Here in the Chilterns we have so far escaped anything but a normal wet day really. Temp at the moment is 10.2c, there are no sparks or thunder to be heard but it is a bit breezy along with the drizzle and light to moderate rainfalls. Will be interesting to see amounts later on, not just here but around the region. Take care those of you being struck by deluge!

  6. Cold air is certainly around us, current temp is -7.7°C with DP -8.3°C   :cold:

That is now the coldest temp recorded here for 2019, will be interesting to see just how low it reaches as it is still dropping. The predicted fog for here tonight has yet to appear although hope it stays away as the dark clear skies are pretty

I don't expect to see much if any snow tomorrow though, we had just a dusting from last nights passing front and the NW > SE movement is certainly more favourable for here. Will be glued to the radar and crossing all fingers and toes for all you guys and gals in the South though, don't forget to post those pics for those of us up here looking for a floating snowflake on the wind

The rumble and strobing is constant with occasional shotgun, longest, noisiest storm in years...and my partner is managing to sleep like a baby though this!!! How does he do it????

There is no let up here at all. Torrential rain now.

To be fair it wasn't that noisy just a lot of constant rumbles. Not one shotgun thunder heard here just down the road but some fantastic IC forks seen, which was great
